I wanted to talk about how they fixed the “under the Payload” issue:
Now if you’re Translocator stands in the way of the payload it gets destroyed so if you throw it in front of a moving payload it instantly gets destroyed and that’s not even the biggest Problem because if it gets destroyed by the payload It makes no Sound like it should if it gets destroyed!
I would like to hear of other Sombra players and what they think about this “fix” IMO it’s not acceptable to have it fixed like this especially without the Sound!
It seems like a reasonable fix to me, but I absolutely agree that it should make a sound when it’s destroyed to provide more information to the player.
Perhaps make a bug report on the appropriate forum specifically stating this issue?
If your problem is that the payload destroys her translocator in the first place, I’m not sure what an appropriate alternative would be that wouldn’t allow Sombra to glitch into the payload or some other unwanted behavior. Do you have another suggestion?
Normally if Translocator is in a Place Sombra cannot be Translocated at she gets Translocated into the next Possible spot from where TL was thrown from.
That means if you would throw it in front of the payload and it drives over it as long as it’s obstructed Sombra lands in front of the Payload same from any other direction (However you manage to get it under from the side)
The reason why I do think its bad is because it’s hardly noticeable if TL gets destroyed even with the sound in the heat of a Battle it’s easy to miss. I would like to get some sort of Icon around or under the Crosshair that would clearly show if TL is placed or not.
I only have around 10 hours on Sombra, so excuse my lack of familiarity with how she works in these situations. It definitely sounds like it would make more sense if she simply TL’d to the nearest possible location when she attempts to TL somewhere she shouldn’t be (like inside the payload).
I’d suggest posting on the bug report forum, since things move a little slower over there and it’s more likely that someone from Blizzard will actually see it. At the very least, the translocator should make a sound when destroyed. That seems like it should be an easy fix.
First off, wow. I used to work in the QA department for a video game studio, and what you’re doing in that thread is something I think Blizzard would consider extremely valuable.
I imagine it must be somewhat discouraging to have these bugs go unaddressed, but I still think it’s very admirable that you’re passionate enough about Sombra to take the time and make a thread like that. QA and game development can sometimes be a slow process, but resources like you’ve provided are crucial to the process.
