I queue solo for ranked. I often get teams that don’t believe in teamwork. Example: the other team is focus firing everything and my team keeps trickling in or spread out to 3 different parts of the map. I hit the macro or type it in myself group up and they refuse to and we get totally obliterated the entire match. Or they make bad character picks and refuse to change. I’m pretty good if not really good with a lot of different characters so I try to pick accordingly to what the team picks. I also change when what I pick isn’t working. Not sure what I can do to improve the situation. There are times when I say something constructively and get trolled. Any advice? No troll responses please

That appears to be the gameplay loop Blizzard intended for OW2. Less reliance on teams, but teamwork providing much greater results. Basically, there is no distinction between Competative and Quick Play in OW2 with how people play. I guess thats wht they call it ranked and unranked now.

There was never teamwork in OW1 comp. It’s unlikely that 5 random people will have the same vision for the game, let alone be willing to communicate and work together.
Some people want to one trick a hero, some(like you) think they know better than the rest, some just don’t care.
Advice would be to turn off comms, play what you enjoy, don’t ask people to switch and focus on yourself. If you want teamplay, find a group!

teamwork is the basis of the game. Ow is a team based game. Teamwork is so important in the game they put a macro right into the game that says group up. They make it now so you can ping stuff, Its not about me knowing better than the rest. its about me knowing what the basis of a team based game consists of.

Play with a group queue then. Not a troll, seriously, find some people to play with. You will have the time of your life and all your complaints are 100% solved.
One night i was playing and i played like 10-12 games. Every game everyone played well on both teams. everyone doing what they were supposed to be doing. No one out of position. both teams every game played very well. No Johnny Jihads running in trying to take out the other team solo. We lost some. we won some. But i didnt care cause everyone was playing well and it was alotta fun. Let’s make teamwork great again.

Sadly, team work is super rare.
I still remember a 6-5 Vokskaya win where both teams grouped up, reset, etc.
But, that’s maybe 5% of games.
Otherwise, game won by best fragging carry players. One reason supports unpopular as harder to frag with.

Solo que is the wild west, at least i remember someone saying this before. You’ll get games were everyone is spread out, flanking tanks, or dps supports (moira).
One of my placement matches had the pharah ult a little after my mei ult at junker. It was pretty cool and a easy game.
