If you keep losing playing solo… Don’t play solo (yeah obvious advice)
But, climbing back from gold to diamond will happen pretty quickly if that’s where you should be.

This happens every season after the rank reset. I get deranked to gold 3, matches are unwinnable, and then it goes away and I slowly get back to a high rank. It’s unfair and disrespectful, why should I have to grind the rank again every time?

There is no solo queue and this is the problem…you can be matched against a wide group and then let the disaster flow over you in slow-motion. Group up to win is the creed, fam. Solo is pain, pure pain…do not go there, do not seek it, lest it will find you
I just played 4 games solo queue. In 6v6 open queue ranked for clarity.

Not sure solo queue is “impossible” now.
For added context. I think I heard 1 person talk once in a game. And there was 1 line of text written at some point when someone fell off the map as said sorry. So, zero comms, zero coordination. 4 wins.

So what about all the people who telling others here what they think happened in their games and add myths?
How come they always are on your team and not the enemy team, especially since there are 5 slots for them to fill on your team and 6 (6 > 5) on the enemy team? Mysterious…

Is that the first time you’ve been to diamond or do you spend a lot of time there? If so, you got lucky and are getting corrected. Maybe over corrected but unless you’ve tangibly made substantial improvements to your gameplay, you don’t just go from gold/plat to diamond overnight.

i think for a lot of people, the problem is feeling like our time and energy is being disrespected, in order to create “fair” or “quality” matches for F2P room temp IQs that don’t reciprocate or give a damn. the first game didn’t have nearly as many problems with match quality, or people that blatantly throw. if i’m on tank and haven’t played the game in awhile, and am doubling my DPS’ damage and STILL losing repeatedly, that is a clear attempt to de-rank me intentionally, in order to arbitrarily incentivize me to grind back to where i was originally after placements. and I’m not willing to sit through around 10-15 matches that are objectively a waste of my time. the first game had losing streaks, but most of the matches still ultimately felt worthwhile. i want to play the game, contribute on any role that is necessary, and coordinate with teammates. none of my friends play this wonderful/dogsh!t game anymore unfortunately, so I make an effort to be in VC and try to communicate. that should obviously be mandatory in a competitive game as well, but different topic. I’m not sure how blizzard can address this, as it is a problem with F2P in general, but it’s gotten absurdly bad

No, the matchmaking is actually bad for solo players. I’ve had so many one sided matches that is completely unfair but you reckon I should be on a lower rank?

I was on a decent win streak until I got matched with a 4 stack on my team. Of course we got steamrolled and I got all the blame for it by teammates who never finished a season above gold while I never finished a season below plat. (Also doesn’t help that doomfist can 1 shot me with regular abilities while my rip tire does 1 damage to him and also makes him stronger)
Typical matchmaking garbage. I wish I could opt out of having 4 stacks or just delete them altogether. I thought they said they already did that a few seasons ago but apparently not. I don’t think I have ever won a game with a 4 stack on my team in the history of overwatch.
You do understand that both stories, yours and the op, are anecdotal and lack reliability and validity? But hey, you were able to tell someone that they suck, ergo, you do not suck and thus you feel better now. Good on you, son

Also, if you’re struggling to climb or maintain rank playing solo. That is all on you, and maybe a sign you were carried by your stack.
