There will always be outliers and exceptional players “tensei” in other words geniuses that can climb fast.
For the regular person though due to the current state of healing creep, solo carrying games is dead.
You can have over 60% kill participation as a dps hero in the sr range of 2500-3000 and still lose due to the amount of burst healing this game has.
These are all inherent signs that the amount of healing in the game needs to be toned down.
Inb4 the rain of condescendance; I have my umbrella ready, yes plat and low diamond is trash/ that being said the majority of the player base plays here.
Not sure what the best course of action is as grinding out of the trash bin solo is near impossible.
Because of healing creep, there are just too many factors outside of your control.
"Wow you need coordination and team work to win in a team based game? Who would have thought, thanks tips unfortunately in practice ladder is a disorganized mess and coordinating is pardon the pun a “crap shoot”. You can coordinate on ladder it’s just not consistent enough.
The new system will hopefully fix that.
I honestly think healing should be scaled way back, let people with game sense and mechanical skill get the frags. What is the point if you can’t get frags, long drawn out battles can be intense but it’s more a sign that there isn’t enough skill to burst things down due to the disproportionate amount of healing.
It takes X amount of mechanical skill and game sense to burst down X amount of an heroes HP pool. When the scales tip too far one way i.e. moth meta battles just go on forever and the win condition becomes which mercy is better. Thank goodness that build of the game died in a fire.
How many times have you closed in as reaper and mccree to get someone down to 10HP only to have burgerta instantly heal them back up?
That sort of mechanic is inherently flawed because the dps dealer is now out of position, hopefully your escape resource is up but if it isn’t GG ur going back to spawn.
The real issue is can your team stay alive long enough while the flanking dps is doing work? Most often when the incorrect healer combinations are selected the quick answer is no (unless your team is superior).
Most games are over at the picking screen people insta-lock lucio zen against the enemy teams brig mercy.
A lot of times you try to explain why it won’t work out, occasionally people listen to logic and reason and switch.
Oftentimes though its a lost cause, moreover is it really necessary for someone to teach people how to play in order to climb ladder?
Can’t the game just have a warning on the side that says “not enough heals” like it says with no tanks no defense heroes etc.
I think something like that would go a long way into convincing people to insta-lock proper healers every game.
I’m not sure what has gotten into peoples heads but about 50% of my games don’t have mercy and oftentimes the team with mercy wins.
Why do people look down on the best healer in the game? Is it because she is boring to play? I guess?
In summary, maybe its time to create a total mayhem competitive which has brig and mercy and leave all the other healers in regular competitive.
Brig and mercy are honestly total mayhem heroes they don’t belong on competitive ladder it makes the game too easy for whatever team has them and is currently responsible for the lack of viable dps heroes.
TLDR
Please turn down the amount of healing the healers do.
