Every time I play soldier the recoil is quite noticeable if I keep firing, yet every now and then I come across a soldier who doesn’t seem to have recoil whatsoever.
You might say, oh they’re compensating for it so it’s less noticeable but just today I watched a soldier in replay and at .25x speed where even as he’s making complex movements there is no amount of recoil to be seen.
This is high gold/low platinum so it’s not like he’s some wunderkind.
'sup with that?
Might be spamming primary fire instead of holding it, removes the recoil completely.
Unsure if they patched it out.

there are a ton of active cheats in the game. i play with MANY dps in low ranks who have aim like master players and everything else is bronze in their gameplay. private profiles, 20-200lvl accounts most of the time.
He did push up on his own to the attackers spawn on first point numbani ^^
If you fire in short bursts you have no recoil. Tap, tap, tap, tap tap. It used to be 3 bursts of fire (the sound from his gun I mean) and then you release but I think with his changes you can do four now. It also prevents his bullet spread from getting out of control.
It wasn’t that, he full auto’d all the time.
The only explanation I can think for that is if you are constantly pushing DOWN with your mouse you can compensate for the recoil and make it negligible but you’d still see a little bit of it.
i don’t know.
BLOODY MOUSE RECOIL SCRIPT.

Maybe the code to check it ourselves might be useful to see what happend, at least if you still have it.
Ya got the replay code? Cause on a good day I can mitigate recoil pretty good, and my aim is kinda iffy a lot of the time.
I’ll post it when I get home. Think it should still be there.
Dont post it, its against the rules apparently because you would be trying to start a “witchhunt”.
Generally Soldier recoil is easy to compensate but then again, also scripts of “norecoil” exist so yeah, could be a lot of things.
Well, since the recoil is somewhat linear, it is actually a relatively simple feat to write a scripted macro which would combine mouse1 with a fixed rate of (-Y) input.
- Note that simple does not mean allowed. Such a macro would 100% be considered cheating according to the terms of use.
A long time ago, way back in the early days of Overwatch, there used to be a trick to soldier 76’s rifle that allowed you to fire semi-auto shots almost as fast as full-auto fire but without any spread if you timed the clicks perfectly.
Since using it like this was highly effective, and since the timing was difficult for a human to perform consistently, early overwatch saw a lot of script abuse amongst soldier 76 players.
It was fortunate that it looked kind of distinct so it wasn’t all that hard to spot.
I’m actually a little surprised that this didn’t start happening an awful lot after that recoil change went live.
it can be macro’d but tbh it is not even that hard to compensate for it.
The recoil on 76 is pretty tame as shooters go. So it’s easy enough to correct with practice and in plat I’d say skill level is high enough to do that.
Cheats wouldn’t correct recoil directly unless there hard locking otherwise they’ll let recoil go as long as it is with the area they are tracking.
macro maybe? IDK im console
Wyoming really started something annoying here. All this hand wringing worrying about starting a witch-hunt on random people as if anybody has time for that. People just want evidence of outlandish claims and it could lead to valuable discussion and learning for people. But no, we’ll just shut it down to protect the hypothetical victims of the masses. Paranoia at it’s worst.

Indeed.
When there’s blatant cases of cheating or exploit using, the person(s) doing it should be eligible to have their name(s) posted, paraded, stickied, etc, for the entire playerbase and dev team to see,
Hell, if there’s dubious activity being asked about, there should be no issue providing a replay. If they are filth then they get exposed, and if they are innocent then no harm done.
Maybe if history showed that people would not blindly attack others, there would be no cause for concern. If you had better things to do, you would not be playing detective because you suspect foul play… in a video game. But yet here you are, perfectly liable to claim someone is a cheater with minimal evidence.
News flash, if the cheating is blatant enough that you could tell from a video, they are going to be reported and banned. If it is impossible to tell from the video, you are not going to “learn” anything or have a productive discussion.
I mean, here you are blaming Wyomjng for the OP’s unwillingness to post proof. Off to a terrible start, Mr. Holmes.
OP literally said he would post his evidence and Hyphen tells him not to because of what Wyoming said. It’s annoying. At least to me. We’re left here twiddling our thumbs speculating on things now.
