Same as pharmercy and mashe. He’s clearly overtuned but her pocketing strategy is ridiculous. (Hot take: it’s verging on toxic if the enemy team runs this)
Mercy + X DPS will always be an issue, especially at low ranks where the resources to shut them down aren’t utilized. It’s not even like the best player wins in that scenario because soldier is OP and mercy’s just there to tag along without showing any real skill expression.
Considering the only thing that will actually change in OW2 might be her Rez, I think it’s safe to say she’s going to stay like this. I understand damage boost is there because she has no damage but people don’t realize her synergy effects breakpoints.

Thats because people think that they fight 76 and not 76+Mercy. People need to realize that you play a 1v2 and not a 1v1. I dont know why people start making mercy the issue again while she is “ok” currently. Sometimes I am glad that the devs dont have to read this stuff…
Well, Mercy + X DPS is strong indeed but it’s not like you cannot do anything about it.
You have to keep in mind that when mercy is boosting, she is not healing so Soldier and Mercy will take regular damage. If Soldier is biotic healing, avoid him for those few seconds and then get back to him.
People also said that Echo is going to be so OP DPS HERO because on PTR they could have 4 ultimate as Reinhardt where to me, a nerf was expectable which did happen.
Mercy superjumps while soldier spams high damage into you.
Even if two tanks go to dive solider and mercy one tank will most likely die. And if you kill the soldier the mercy still has time to Rez all while your team is vulnerable on point. It shouldn’t be a kill trade
I learned that every time I see that I need to stop playing dive heroes. I now just lock widow. Healing cant do much against one shots. Not only I waste her res but hes more scared next time and wont take as free sightlines.
Yep I hate it, but widow is sometimes the only solution for those things (and well Hanzo, depends on map)
Then nerf damage boost of god-damn mercy already and make hitscans self-sufficient, because outside of damage boost the damage is a joke. Freaking Cree can’t even kill the torb’s turret with 12 bullets. Ashe just charging enemy support ults w/o blue beam, same with the soldier.
It’s frustrating because I do find Soldier a smidge overtuned, and Mercy pocketing him compounds it. It becomes a 1v2 instead of a 1v1 (which a 1v1 against a Soldier is pretty hard, too).
I find that going Ana and anti-nading them helps, as well as having a tank or another DPS dive on them and help. Killing the Mercy first helps.
It’s frustrating when any hero pockets a DPS solely, but I think it’s more frustrating when a Mercy is doing it (you visually see it and you know if you do get the one-up on him, she’ll pop resurrect if she has it unless she’s interrupted). I don’t think it’s unstoppable, though.
You’d think the solution would be to nerf dmg boost and buff her in other areas to compensate. Make her less of a pocket slave. But no, they’re probably going to nerf the dps for the nth time
Buff her in other area’s how? Mercy’s pocket would just have more sustain if you buffed her healing even more. When Mercy had 50hp/s you could out damage her pocket now you can’t.
Boosting creates more problems than it solves, and I think more Mercy mains than not would easily give it up for a more fun main healer kit instead of a utility DPS booster.
I think GA is fine. I personally like speed/mobility on heroes. So maybe instead they could replace dmg boost with a speed boost for the hero Mercy beam is attached to? I guess this would make her like a single target version of lucio
