Back in October 2022 when Overwatch 2 released with the DPS passive granting bonus movement speed, they nerfed soldiers sprint speed by 10% to compensate with the buffs they had given to the DPS role. In February, they changed the DPS passive to faster reload after Eliminations and took away the movement speed passive but did not give soldier his 10% movement speed back. He now gets outran by so many abilities that he would’ve otherwise been able to keep his distance from. This was a compensation nerf that was never reverted and the old man just feels too slow to reposition as effectively as he could.
No wonder I die more, I hate using his healing field thing so I always relied on running away.
How has this not been talked about before?
No no no.
Soldier shouldn’t get anymore buffs until his damage is nerfed.
But they did give his speed back tho
Cool, so can we also get some unintended damage and healing nerfs to him too?
i thought they did revert the soldier sprint nerf tho? plus, if anything on soldier needs nerfing it should be a revert on the buff to his healing field… like, why did that ever go thru lol
They didn’t? Check the patch notes. It’s not documented anywhere and still feels slower in game
good. its an infinite movement ability. nerf it harder.
He got his movement nerfed but received higher damage, more healing, less recoil, and can headshot with his ultimate. He can have his speed back if you remove those others buffs.
Yes lets buff the bronze to t500 meta DPS even more.
It’s a miracle in itself that S76 is capable of running at his age
This is incorrect. The nerf applied during the beta back when the DPS role passive was just a constant 10% bonus for everyone. When the game went live, the role passive was changed and Soldier/Somrba’s movement speed nerfs were reverted. The DPS passive at launch was changed to the increased movement speed and reload speed on kill, but at this time they no longer had the nerf.
