Can’t wait to try her out and she looks like she’ll be the type of hero I enjoy playing.
I’m not talking about power levels I’m just talking about her gameplay and mechanics from the info I have heard.
All sounds super fun and exciting.
It’s funny these forums go crazy when it’s a DPS that has a gun and shoots and they automatically hate it like if it’s something strange to have a new hero that has a gun in an FPS game.
I’m sure if the new DPS was a hero like Fox girl that has a magic wand that throws rose petals in the map that do damage to the enemy with some sort of easy aim , they would be praising it as the best DPS Blizard has ever released.
If you look at the game in this way then you are playing the wrong type of game and your expectations will never be satisfied in this game.

She has a new type of gun and unique gameplay, looks fun, something different to the usual Cass/Ashe/Widow/Soldier guns where they’re basically reskins of each other just different rate of fire. Looking forward to trying her out.

I agree, its really amazing how many people play this game but cant come to terms with it being an fps and doing fps things

I mean…I feel like the vast majority people have been pretty positive towards Sojourn and her kit up until today and then people are just reacting to the fact that she’s apparently too strong and also one-shots.

Noobs mad she can one shot to the head, you ever play Halo?
You know what a railgun is?

the rail gun probably needs to keep its power or there is no point to it. they can nerf the charge rate and ease of landing shots though

Numbers can be tweaked and railguns are staples of FPS games.
At least this so-called one shot is a skilled shot. And it only affects heroes that are 200 hp and below.
And I’m sure only when she has her power meter at 100%.
And that you can land a headshot of course.
Which is not looking like she can headshot 1 shot every second all game.

Do you know if railguns generally have falloff, if so what range do you think it would be? Just hoping she can’t do it from like 50m away lol.
From the games I remember , rail guns don’t have any fall off lol.
But again it’s a skilled shot.

Why would it have fall off, it’s a charged up shot. The Fall off nerfs already ruined this game.

True, but what is it’s effective range generally? Since while other games there is no falloff, OW is obviously an exception and she’ll most likely have falloff. Just wondering what her effective range might be anyways.
I’m asking this because I’ve never used a railgun before, but it looks real fun.
Like I said from what I remember in games that have real guns that I have played they’re usually isn’t any fall off.
Obviously in Overwatch they can add fall off if they please but generally they don’t have fall off.

People get mad about new DPS heroes because we already have more than enough of them… And honestly, I’m having a hard time believing that you can’t understand that.

Aight fair enough, I just had a look at the sojourn gameplay and it looked like there was a bit of spread (not for the piercing shot though… but I think that’s a projectile?) and falloff involved so I think it’s okay.
Keep in mind, she’s also getting a slowing field that will make the shots significantly less skillful.
But hey, Sojourn sounds like she’ll be great to me after balancing and I fully expect her to be in my top 5. I’m just saying, people only cooled on her a bit today, after hearing she has two things the community largely hates playing into and is apparently overtuned in testing. It’s not largely because she’s an FPS-style hero.
Sojourn looks pretty cool and as long as the one-shot is something that she has to work towards (i.e. on some charge meter that she has to do damage to fill or whatever) and put herself at risk to use then it should be balanced. But there’s still time for them to balance so maybe it doesn’t oneshot, which would be the preferable option.

Believe me I know that we need more supports and brawlers/tanks.
And it’s pretty dumb when people are upset that the hero that is shown is a DPS hero and think that there won’t be any tanks and supports in the final version of Overwatch 2.
Basically they are throwing their tantrums for no reason since there will be new tanks and supports coming soon.
But that is not the point I was trying to make.
The point I was trying to make is that there is constant whining about the FPS type heroes, the hitscans, even the projectiles that are hitscan-ish.
Which is ridiculous since they are playing an FPS game. If that bothers them so much then they are playing the wrong game and there is no silver lining in the future for Overwatch to have the things they want which are non FPS things and rather more moba type things.
Edit:
Besides PVE of course.
But even in PVE you are still shooting and killing things to win the game.
Looks more like Borderlands which is an FPS game with Diablo/RPG type elements in it. With skill trees and all that.

You can still juke people and use abilities if slowed though. It’s not like say current McCree where you just die if hit by the CC.
Well from what I’ve read from the leaks and other information this is her kit:
Primary fire is a fast travel projectile almost hitscan ish.
Secondary fire is a railgun which you charge up the energy with damage done with her primary fire. There is a meter in the center like zarya’s energy.
The less charge, the less damage the shot does.
At 100% it seems you can one shot 200 hp heroes with a headshot.
She has a wrist energy ball she shoots at the ground which slows enemies down a bit around it’s radius. Or something like that.
She has a rocket slide that can go horizontal and vertically on a 5 second cooldown.
Her ultimate seems to increase the rate at which the railgun gets energy from the primary fire over a short period of time.
She may have other things or I may have got some things wrong but that is what I know so far.
