Saw an apparent leak giving her a disruptor shot perk with a 25% slow. Lmk if this is fake or not please.
My thing is why would they even give Soj the slow back when she’s already a strong hero and her main gameplay loop isn’t primarily focused on area denial/holding space? They removed it cause people thought it was annoying that she could just…do too much with her kit. This is the same issue I face with Hazard’s self heal perk for the block, these perks get to a point where they just do too much and amplify the already bloated kits of new heroes. I don’t want to see this become a normal thing, at all.
If they are wanting to tackle the high mobility in game by adding/increasing slow percentages instead of bringing back hard CC, fine. I just don’t get why we would give a slow back to a long range high mobility hero who can also punish at close range, such as Soj. She is one of the inherent problems which causes these needs of more slows in the first place, so I don’t get why we would give her the additional tool when her kit is already a big problem with people. I would think we’d add slows to heroes that inherently struggle against the high mobility or have somewhat normal mobility/damage ranges.
Even if that is a perk, it doesn’t sound like it would be better than either of her current meta minor and major picks. Maybe they would be replacing the current major with sticky orb, since s18 has perk changes. Idk.
Yeah I have no clue which one it would be replacing. So we’ll have to wait and see.
You can look up which perks are being replaced for Sojourn. Sojourn has been the best DPS for like 11 seasons, its not surprising that shes gonna remain OP.

This is exactly what they are doing. They are replacing sticky orb with a 25% slow instead. They are also changing another perk to give her 50% disruptor charge on slide. I can’t remember which one that is replacing though.

This is what they’re doing, and it makes her MUCH stronger because she can lock down sightlines in TWO ways now

Seems her minor is the 25% slow, instead of the extra ammo. And major gives 50 rail charge on slide. For minor I assume most will still take the ult one. For major might depend on comps being played for the extra mobility, or getting rail energy with slide while keeping the distance and height of normal slide. I still think most ppl will pick the current 2 that they are already using, not the new 2. But I guess we shall see.
There are too many slows in the game. Sure, it replaces hard CC, but they really are overusing it. Get a team with Ram and Sojourn and you get 2 slows that can be placed back-to-back and stop a retreat. Throw in a cass or mei and ana with her perk and others and you feel you are constantly being slowed. It’s not fun.
And Ram slow is just stupid. Might as well be a solo ult from Hazard if you get stuck in the middle of it. He already has too much block, too much shield health and doesn’t need as much slow as he has.
So the ones they are replacing is the Double Power Slide charge, and the Extra 15 ammo.
These are being replaced with a Sliding Charge for her Railgun, and a slowing effect on Disruptor.
Supposedly, there’s a third perk being replaced, and IIRC, it’s changing out the Overcharge on Overclock with a refreshed or additional second to Overclock on eliminations or hits.
There are not. And most heroes (in the Damage-role) tend to be immune to slows when using mobility abilities; Tanks and Supports, are more susceptible to slowing effects.

The slows are needed, but its who gets them that bugs me. Does Sojourn really need the slow back? With all of her upsides, she also gets to slow enemies that should be flanking her? She should be weak to flanks.
The fact is, there should be MORE slows, but I’d rather they be given to characters who actually could use the help. Or perhaps just make new characters with slows.
Sojourn, like Soldier, isn’t intended to have any overt weaknesses. Moreover, Power Slide pretty much kills any attempts for flankers to counterplay against her.
Like other burst-oriented heroes, though, Sojourn is technically weaker against Tanks as too much of her damage is heavily resisted or blocked by armor or defensive abilities.
Because the people that make the game work hard on that so they don’t have time to actually play and be good at the game. So they just add stuff they think sounds cool.
She is already strong and her perks should be weaker. Make her minor perks major and make new minor perks that are weaker Increase buff slide by 20% or reduce cd by 1s, something like that.
Yeah like, if mobility is an issue, why not give a slow perk to a hero who’s slow was literally nerfed and is still in it’s nerfed state?
Sym (20% ->15% turret nerf to slow) would benefit much more from a slow buff than an extra turret or more TP range…

Wouldn’t mind that. Generally i think that heroes that have high mobilty shouldn’t have slow and vice versa. You get one tool to engage or disengage, not two.
The issue is that most CC goes on the tank. We have a huge shortage of players willing to play tank, and having all this CC, and adding more and more of it, including slows (especially slows with ram and mei for example) just makes tanking less and less fun.
It already feels like you play half the game with some sort of slow or being booped constantly or whatever. It’s just not fun and it’s getting less fun. Removing boop resistance in 6v6 can make the tanks feel like they’re in a pinball machine (especially from junk), and adding more slows just degrades the fun of tanking (and they already have Ana doing that in most games anyway).
Tanks may feel like raid-bosses to play against, but they are CC magnets to play as, and that’s one of the reasons nobody wants to play tank. They need to reduce the effects on tanks and adjust tanks in other ways accordingly if they want people to play the role. Just adding more CC, which gets thrown at them constantly, is pushing people away from tanking.
idk why they keep giving her annoying abilities that everybody is going to hate. Sticky disruptor was bad enough already, now slow too? I hope they don’t combine with each other and you must pick one or the other.

There is a pattern. They had slow on disruptor and they removed it. It was annoying and they fixed the issue.
They had freeze on mei and they removed it because it is incredibly annoying, especially to tanks, but then they added it back.
They had shield on orisa then they removed it because double shield is horrible to play into. Then they added it back and now in 6v6, as the game progresses it becomes more and more likely you’ll see orisa+sigma as perks get awarded and it’s very unfun to play against.
It seems like the old team4 figured out what players really didn’t like and removed it and the new team4 is hell-bent on adding it all back and doesn’t care that they are going back to abilities that were hated by most of the player base.
Almost like the current team doesn’t really know what they’re doing - I guess when all the senior people left and now it’s mostly juniors, it can be expected.
