I havent played her yet, and only got to check out her skills briefly during a lunch break.
But quick opinion, will Brigitte change the meta? Will she just be another meh character thatll serve no purpose. Will she Harden the meta to be more dive? Or will her kit be so strong that she’ll become the next must pick?
I’ve been playtesting her since the moment she dropped on PTR. While the ptr is a weird place for testing, I am going to say, in my opinion, she will be meta defining. She is awesome.
I think so, yes. At least there will be another way to counter dive, her flail will knock Winston and D.Va out of the air and she will be dangerous to Tracer and Genji.
In theory, I think she can change quite a few things.
I think she has good potential to break thru chokes that are held down by Widowmaker & Junkrat along with any Tanks blocking the path. Her ultimate grants armor to her allies while making herself move faster, her shield, although weak at 600HP, will still prevent her from being one-shotted in the head or getting combo’d by Junkrat’s grenade/mine. Her shield bash and whip shot also have potential to knock the enemy out of position, booping them out of the way of the choke.
I also think she has potential to be part of the Quad Tank Meta. Given her passive heals all her allies around her while she’s melee’ing, her repair pack healing and granting temp armor on over heals, throw in Moira and there is a lot of damn HP with sustain for the enemy to deal with.
Her kit leaves me wondering if she’ll become a must pick.
In the sense, you want to coutner dive, pick Brigitte. You want to counter flankers of any type, pick Brigitte. You want an additional shield tank/healer for a shield comp, pick brigitte.
Im having a bit of a hard time conceptualizing where shes weak based on what I read in her skills.
i honestly think the “meta changing” thing is way overblown, at least the way she is right now, she feels on the weak side, not earning her spot, and having such a short range will probably make her niche at best for certain strats. Later with buffs and whatnot that may change, i just dont see it as she is right know.
Went into some PUG’s and Moira/Brigitte turned out to do really well, especially in tankier comps. Having Brigitte in the front line and Moira in the back is incredibly effective and does wonders against D.Va, Tracer, and Genji. She definitely can hold her own, and her 190 damage combo is really effective against a single enemy (in Tracer’s case, lethal).
Only time will tell, but my guess is we’re gonna see Deathball come back and less Lucio unfortunately.
I consider any character added to the game changes something, since its adding another option/ solutions to a problem that previously didn’t have a good answer for. She is good for a player that want a bit of everything, the almost ultimate flex character. Shes a good option with other tanks and even with other dps, shes can hold her own and works best with the team. Overall shes great in most scenarios and has a great kit for flankers.
She’s very ability dependent so Sombra is very strong against her. She can barely touch Pharah just like Reinhardt, and unlike Rein Pharah can shoot around her shield with splash.
Overall she’s strong at close range and against flankers, but has very little range. She’s weak against Soldier/McCree but strong against Tracer.
So shes going to be in virtually every team comp, whether its dive, tank oriented, or otherwise?
Having anti flank/dive is nice, but on that same token, I feel a bit bad for reaper, who also flanks and is close range. Another nail in his coffin I guess.
Hard to say right now, with new sombra, and limited range it might not be as cut and dry. But if you played mercy or play mercy you might want to pick her up when being heavily focused.
