So why is Winston autolock ok but Sym's wasn't?

Winston had (when Sym still had lock on):

  1. MUCH more health than Sym
  2. More mobility than Sym
  3. Longer range than Sym
  4. A better shield than Sym
  5. The ability to hit multiple targets with his gun

So why was his (as still is) ok? Is it because he is a big character? He has a shield on a lot of mobility stay protected. Is it because it’s only 60 dps? Moira’s only does 50 dps and hers is harder to aim.

Winston isn’t autolock

It’s cleave

It shoots a ray of damage in a fixed area

It does not follow the enemy target

The only auto lock that exists in the game currently is Mercy

We should state that it LOOKED like it auto aimed…but looks can be deceiving

Sym: 120dmg and plus
Winston: 60 used to be outheald by mercy…

“Bigger hitbox” So he’s easier to shoot.
Weaker damage. Capped at 60 DPS.

As long as the Salty DPS mains don’t consistently die from their own mistakes, the opposing weapon/ability in question is acceptable.

Seriously, you had to have screwed up to get killed by Symmetra 2.0’s pitiful range.

God, i need to play dnd again, but for that i need frinds.
At best some that dont kill me when i try to destroy the powerfull crown doue to it being evil and my chars trait is, that he seaks to destroy all evil

Both were OK, tbh. I think it was just low SR players that were complaining… and because of them, the devs couldn’t really buff it.

If you think about it, Winston could (and can) assassinate someone with his jump+melee (which does 80 damage max, I think) and finish them off with his 60dps weapon. Also, if he was hitting at least two people, he was already doing as much damage as Sym even though it’s not focused on one enemy.

Sym had no mobility and a shield that could be used to block a stun or something, but wasn’t really useful at blocking damage during a fight. Winston has mobility and can use his shield to block damage via shield dancing.
