When these three tanks have their abilities up, why do you still insist on shooting them?
Zarya gets ult charge and more damage.
Sigma gets shields.
D.Va just cancels attacks.
So why do you still shoot them? Arguably, D.Va’s is the weakest since she doesn’t get anything from it other than canceling things, but she can absorb throwable ults, too.
I still shoot through Defense Matrix due to that reason, but I made it a habit to not shoot the other two.
I think it honestly has to do with the throwaway nature of ammo and abilities. There is no limit to what you can pump out other than reloads and cooldowns so people go ahead a pre-fire into corners trying to catch peekers and Zarya and Sigma shields take advantage of that. OW players just have very little discipline and the gameplay conditions them to play that way sometimes.
i shoot at zaryas coz she deserves to have fun…dva and sigma are pretty much useless and harmless even if you continue shooting at it, they are easy to remove
Sometimes it is better to simply burst down a Zarya and then instantly kills her in steady of waiting for her shield to deplete and letting her alive. This gives her lots of opportunities to use her Ult or kill someone.
Zarya makes perfect sense. You can obliterate her shield faster than 2 seconds if you shoot into it. If you choose not do anything she gets 2 seconds of free damage into people. Its arguably better to destroy the shield as soon as possible to start damaging her and reducing the damage output. If you have no option to kill her reliably and are in a poking phase it makes sense to not shoot.
Dva makes sense because if you keep popping shots into it she burns up more defense matrix. That can be benefical depending upon if you wanted to try having your team throw out a grav or blizzard.
Sigma - I don´t shoot
Zarya - to let her bubble pop and kill her. Sometimes, waiting can kill you first, it´s better to get rid of her. It´s not even giving her ult charge, just weapon energy.
Diva - to force her to burn her matrix and demech her. Again, better get rfid of her fast.
Ofc, I am not waising my best abilities on them. If I play solider, I will use helix after I burn their matrix/bubble.
For D.Va it can be worthwhile to continue attacking to try to force her to keep her matrix up longer and deplete it, especially on a hero that doesn’t have to reload frequently like D.Va or Orisa.
Zarya it can be worthwhile to pop the bubbles to secure a kill.
The only one it never makes sense to shoot is Sigma’s grasp - Unless you are shooting him with a beam.
Most of the time any of the shields sigma gets is from people not being able to react fast enough or straight spam / projectile attacks that have already gone out.
With zarya. You can’t just ignore the bubbled rein plowing through the team or the bubbled zarya pushing up. So you kinda have to shoot em or else they’ll just keep clicking W freely.
She gets ult quicker yes but it’s an indirect comparison. It’s like saying “More skill = more ult charge.” Yeeaah, but not really. If your skill is higher than the skill average of the enemy team, you’d get more ult charge.
But skill has no direct correlation to ult charge gained, being in gm does not mean you’ll get 100% extra ult charge. However, being smart is how you get that ult charge and it’s the same thing with damage. Damage gets you ult charge… But not extra.
Sigma - Don’t
Dva - Force it out if we have stuff like Grav
Zarya - Often times Zarya players can be out of position, in that case it’s best to nuke bubble and kill her before she can get back. Bubble is her only personal defensive utility.
Because the other day, I rolled Bastion in MH. I killed all of the Sigma’s team first and then deliberately fed the Sigma just so I could kill him more.
