They are removing the ability to make characters pseudo-tanks, because you can be damn sure the players will be doing exactly that.
This argument really only would make sense if bash still went through shields, but it doesn’t. In order for Brig to bash the enemy Rein, his shield has to be down. This same logic applies to Ana’s sleep dart.
Idk I feel like starting off OW2 with strange and probably bad balancing decisions is gonna tank its playability from the get go. They need to let go some of the hero drama from now its kinda obvious that they are trying to still follow biases.
Commenting on any “balance philosophy” for ow2 is pointless when we barely have any information on the game. This is like early alpha stage. We don’t know half the reworks, we don’t know what the new heroes will bring to the table and we don’t know how any of these match ups will play out and how much 5v5 will effect it. We’re still at least 6 months out from even a beta and people are already complaining about “balance”. How do you expect them to balance the game when they don’t even have an audience to test it? The balance phase is still 6 months away at least. People just need to shut up and be patient.
Because hypermobility and flankers need to reign supreme again.
I mean, andy already mentioned how flankers are just plain better in their internal tests so…
the real question would be, what is the price ana has to pay to keep sleep dart in her kit? probably a huge nerf to nade that’s for sure
Not if you’re a tank. Sleep is the bane of tanks, and when your 1 and only tank is sleeping on the job for 4 seconds, chances are the rest of his team is getting mulched (or retreating and leaving him for dead).
There’s a reason the pro-playtest had sleep dart at 15 sec cd. It’s not great when there are no tanks, but it’s so much better when there’s only one.
I’m reminded the time when Sleep dart was changed because in total mayhem it could kick players from the game because of how long it stunned and how short the cooldown was.
Accretion also got changed so it’s stun doesn’t scale with height and it has a far significant wind-up, is visually large enough for players to notice and moves slowly at an arc compared to sleep dart. Nothing is sacred.
Or just the bunch of Ana simps and Nano addicted Genji’s.
Hopefully it does get addressed.
Hitting a slim fast target like Tracer is harder and it should last long enough for Ana or her team to capitalize on. But hitting a Tank Brawler who’s wide like a refrigerator, it isn’t skillful.
b4 anyone mentions barriers they break, in ow2 there aren’t gonna be many, they aren’t always up, she can get another angle and do you really want people playing double barrier, ice wall, sym wall bunker style comps just to slow Ana down?
I believe they are including the time you are getting down and getting back up as well. It’s not instantaneous.

The nade heal was nerfed to 60, which means Ana will only get healed for 40 HP in combat, and the CD of sleep was increased to 15-16 seconds

thats actually a good question, sleep is more lethal by far imo lol. i’ve survived brigs bash tons of times but hardly ana’s sleep. its usually a death sentence. especially if tank and naded
I wouldn’t be surprised if the duration was reduced as well or if the anti heal was completely removed tbh, getting slept is basically dying as a tank lol

It’s good for mobility but I think what makes it strong is that it’s an almost guaranteed cancel on an enemy’s ability/ult/mobility
Reaper ult, Hog heal, Winston jump, D.va boost, etc. I’m constantly cancelling with it, and you can do it without getting killed immediately like if you were to try to go up to an ulting Reaper or a Hog and flash them
Yeah this is the sole reason it’s getting removed in OW2. Its def not because of her “crazy followup damage” after stunning lol
Yeah which I find interesting because they specifically kept Sombra’s hack to still interrupt abilities when she first uses it. shrug
Kinda disappointed that this seems to be the only Brig change so far. Was hoping they’d change her kit around a lot since neither Brig players nor anybody else really likes it right now.
Not sure what tanks are letting themselves get hit by sleep that easily. Rein has big shield, sigma has shield & grasp, orisa has shield and fortify, Winston has shield & mobility, ball has mobility, dva has mobility & defense matrix, Zarya has bubble and isn’t that large for a tank. It’s really only Roadhog that’s “easy” to hit, and still you wouldn’t want to use sleep past 20m as it’s dodgeable
Especially considering there should be DPS pressuring the Ana to use sleep dart on them

You mean the 250 HP shield? Good luck still having it by the time you’re close enough to anyone.
And again, it’s super tiny, so you’re basically only gonna land it on tanks. And it doesn’t matter if you know not to shoot something sleeping cause you might be DPSing and then randomly Ana lands sleep in front of you. You’ve already fired shots, so they’re gonna land. And then there’s all the splash damage or turrets/B.O.B.s in the game.
How? Ana isn’t even DPS.
