So when's the moth meta

I’m itching for my dps doom man, give me my hero.

Never, hopefully. Why they’d want to highlight this awful piece of Overwatch’s history is beyond me.

Though I understand the desire to play dps Doomfist.

whenever next OWC is most likely (it WILL be during OWC…just not sure if itll be the next one)…and we already have another 6v6 type thing coming up…so some time next season probably

From my understanding it might come out next week along with the next round of 6v6 playtesting.

I know the playtesting is for sure coming next week.

They advertised the Moth Meta for this season though in the trailer. Since next week is the mid-season update they might release it then along with the next round of testing.

It would be counter productive to release a 6v6 test AND OWC at same time

I also don’t recall anything about moth meta this season…I remember them talking about it when they announced OWC…but that’s different…maybe I’m wrong

It’d be insane, 0 ppl would play the max 3 mode.

I think there’s only been twitter stuff, I haven’t seen an announcement or anything since the last one ended personally.

I def agree it would be counter-productive and take attention away from it. Which I hope I’m wrong in that sense.

That being said I did just rewatch the season 14 trailer and it does advertise OWC Moth Meta coming. Considering the playtest will last for 3 weeks and the season ends shortly after that, they may very well be out at the same time unfortunately. Unless Moth meta is coming out for the LAST week of the season, which I sadly doubt.

Because despite all the reddit historical revisionism and whining, it was still one of the few moments in OW history where almost all heroes were viable and strong.

1 hero being mandatory enabling 90% of the cast into equity >>>>> hard coded meta that forces mirroring entire comps to compete

That’s good. Maybe they think no one is going to play max 3 either way.

Except supports. If you didn’t main Mercy, this was an absolutely horrible time to be a support player. People would scream and throw fits if you didn’t immediately lock Mercy. People would throw and/or report you. Lost a few friends during the period over Mercy’s atrocious balance.

Unlike Lucio, who had reigned as the meta always good support for 2 years?

‘‘Woe for thee, none for me’’?

Considering only 1 player per team can pick Mercy, eh.

But also the other support was also empowered by Mercy. Thats why every comp was viable.

Sounds like your friends were just really immature who took a videogame WAAAAY too seriously if you guys stopped being friends over the Moth Meta.

How was every comp viable if Mercy was a must pick?

Moth meta was horrible when it was live and would be horrible now. I don’t think many would queue up for it.

Cuz only Mercy was mandatory.
Not to mention Mercy would not be pocketing the entire match as she needed to heal most of the time to quickly rush Valk.

So a lot of the support lineups were just Mercy + “whoever tf you want”

Dps was also just “whoever you can kill Mercy with”

And tank also “whoever tf can focus Mercy/protect their own Mercy”

This essentially resulted in people just playing whatever tf they felt like so long as they had Mercy.

But…but…Mercy makes the game unbearable.

And she takes no skill so she has to be bad.

There’s a massive difference between a good support who’s balanced like Lucio and the absolutely required unbalanced mess that Moth Mercy was.

Yeah, they were. The worst was how they treated another guy who mained Moira due to nerve damage issues. He quit the gaming group outright. I moved on shortly thereafter, as did others.
