I didn’t hear anything about it being in problem in OW1. I didn’t get matches with and against GM and T500 players in OW1. And getting good is just going to make the already braindead easy matches even easier. and more importantly, I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO. The whole point of matchmaker is to make an even Match, and it clearly doesn’t do that
Pretty sure Bobby took all that money for the match maker and spent it on (redacted) and (redacted). Which is why they have to tell us it “exists” and “works”.
I think its probably just some 25 dollar old server sitting in their server rack from Gateway or some old Cyrix driven machine that has about 10 lines of code in it.
Would you prefer half hour que times?
Also isn’t the enemy team in the same bad matchmaking, so theyre just as likely to get an uneven ranked team?
The matchmaking is bad. But its bad for everyone I thought
Y E S. Quality over quantity people. And who says that it would be. maybe if the matchmaker was good, then maybe we’d get more players because they won’t have such trash matches
It would be very easy to get it fixed, but the solution is impossible. Everyone. Stop. Playing.
That easy. Would be fixed in a day, if more than half the playerbase stopped cold turkey.
For the matchmaking to be better it would have to take longer. The better you want it the longer it will take.
Love how you ignored the rest of what I said
Well no because even if all the ranks do match up player by player (which i doubt is true) it’s dependent heavily on the roles, If the T500 on your team is playing say mercy they aren’t going to be as impactful as if it was the tank
that was or a widow. and Speaking of Tanks that’s the biggest issue, you can just end up with a bad tank while the enemy team ends up with a good one, and there’s nothing you can do about that. you can try your best to support the tank but it’s an uphill battle that you aren’t likely going to overcome as you can’t out pocket a massive skill diff.
and ifc if what u say is true that both sides have poorly matched teammates then why are so many fights objectively speaking one sided, I’ve had many matches where we roll the enemy team and many of my teammates have 0 deaths
Never, they painted themselves into a corner. If they bring it back to functioning, everyone’s queues would skyrocket, there are simply not enough people left playing the game.
Matchmaking has been pretty decent on DPS and support lately. But tank matchmaking has become terrible for some reason. I constantly get matched agaist enemy DPS smurfs (or just DPS gap in general) as a tank every 10 games and there’s little I can do about that since they got rid of roadhog’s one shot combo.
Stop being a drama queen, que times might go to 5 minutes in the more populated ranks. I could care less about the higher ranks.
Yes both sides can get bad matches almost every time, doesn’t mean its fun spawn camping someone.
It just seems to get worse every season.
Matchmaker mainly became a problem once they started hiding a ton of info. Once that happened that is what made people think the matchmaking was extremely bad. If they just kept same visible mmr numbers and open profiles people would see match maker isn’t as bad as they thought. Their planned update with visible rank progression and wide range grouped queues being pretty separate from solo queue should help greatly for the matchmaking.
How do you make a MM that factors in everthing?
Like im a plat DPS, but If i play a hero like widow, or sombra, i sudenly become bronze.
So how does the MM determin my skill level?
Now multiplay that for every person quing.
How does MM factor that in?
and that is just one thing, what about peoples moods, someone might be really angry making them play worse, their profile/previous games might say he is a GM player, but due to his state of mind he is more like a gold.
How does MM factor that in?
And what about groups? if you want a standard game of OW with a friend outside skill range, Quickplay is the only mode, so how do you plance a silver and diamond team?
And the list could go on, how do you solve all those and the hundrend other factors without creating hour long quetimes and putting in tons of restrictions
People seem to forget it took 15 to 20mins to get a game as a dps in OW1 and that was on EU WEST, imagine in less populated areas.
I think they could add a solo que(which didn’t they say they’re adding at some point, or no?). And they could let PC opt out of cross play.
Those 2 things would fix a LOT of the issues.
Beyond that, if they have more room in the que times start tightening up the spread. Maybe even adding playtime to the mix. Like I’d rather have another veteran on my team be ‘practicing’ than a brand new account.
And now that’s the standard queue for GM support in populated regions/times
I may be wrong, but in OW1 wasnt dps quetimes in GM sometimes over a hour long?
Yea I def recall seeing dps streamers with wild queue times
Yeah no….it’s been a complaint since forever….I used to link posts dating back to 2017 with matchmaking complaints….
Match making always sucked, it has just gotten worse.
Blizzard used to know that you dont mix solo queue and premade teams, but faster queues take precedent now, at all costs.
