So what the hell do people like about 2?

As a tank you feel as if you can’t do squat unless youre one of the two blatantly overpowered “meta” picks because when you die the whole team falls apart, so the second you try to use your left mouse button the entirety of the enemy team mows you down.
As a DPS you can’t play any of the fun heroes as only the 4 basic shooter archetypes Assault Rifle, Sniper, Railgun, and Rifle are viable at all.
As a support your ability to experience fun is entirely dependent on if the enemy team is too dumb to realize that supports are the ones keeping the tank alive, have fun with respawn simulator 2.0 if they aren’t.
What was fixed in 2? I don’t understand. The game still is hard to read and noisy, tanking still has the exact same problems as in OW1 but now you don’t have a second tank to balance the CC spam with, and the balancing is still in the toilet… and people like this? Why? What makes this so defendable? How can people like 5v5 when it doesn’t even change anything. Its just a minor change marketed to death to make the fake sequel more convincing.

I like the day/night maps. The overcast in Blizzard World looks amazing.

The heroes chatter is great.

OW2 is built exclusively for selfish players, usually dps. The kinds of people you always hate having on your team. That is the target audience.

The core gameplay is fun when the matchmaking isn’t terrible.

It is just fun to duo with my sistah spice. Overwatch is basically the only pvp shooter that still has these weird rpg elements.

Paladins as well. But it looks and plays like a mobile game on console. So yeah…

Honestly I would have paid full price for Overwatch 2 if it had shipped with:

-JQ, Sojourn, Kiriko, Ram, and maybe 2-3 more heroes at the start
-2-3 more maps for each QP game mode
-A way to continue progressing my account without being expected to hemorrhage money
-Better matchmaking
-Thoughtful and competent balance changes to each hero to account for the new 5v5
-Endgame stats and cards like the first game had but with improved presentation and more fun & unique cards
-Improved POTG system (perhaps with dual POTG like they had once proposed)
-A new UI that is clean, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing

THAT would have felt like a true sequel.

What a letdown, like what an absolutely massive letdown. I still can’t believe that we all waited YEARS to get basically have things… taken away?

Like the game is fun. Yeah, because it’s overwatch. But for me, OW2 was the biggest disappointment of the year, by far.

Nothing.

Over time they have removed key reasons I fell in love with OW.

First they deleted my original main Sym, now they have ruined my replacement main Mei.

Now my favourite game mode I would play for hours open queue comp is unplayable due to tank spam.

It’s just OW1 but worse.

if OW2 is doing better it is simply because it is now free to play, not because it is in any way a better game. They should have just kept it how it was but relaunched it as free.

This 5v5 style fulfills the needs for those that just want to win a game with 100% twitchy actions and keep tactics to an absolute minimum.

I like a lot of things. OW2 over OW1 any day.

I play D.Va for dynamic and fun. I play Sombra for mindgames and to disrupt enemy plans. I play Ana for that intense shooting gameplay and sleep shots.

What I like in OW2 over OW1? Dynamic, a bit more personal impact, less stalling and bashing your head against shields or infinite HP pools.

There are a lot of thing I hate about OW2, but playing in QP is perfectly fine for me.

Because I don’t like Valorant, CS GO or other fps games where you spend a lot of time camping around corners waiting to shoot an enemy.

I like that heroes have “magic” abilities but at the same time this has a sort of “scientific” explanation. I like that they have different nationalities and their voice lines (except Kiriko’s).

Although I also hate it, I like team work. When it works, there’s nothing more satisfying.

Although I criticize the game sometimes, I do so because I still love it. I haven’t really played other games regularly in 3 years.

I like the CC reduction, faster paced gameplay, and overall feel. I think the game would be perfect if they removed map pools, lowered shop prices, and put in more frequent balance patches :hugs:

One less shield and low queue times is all i ever wanted

The daily and weekly missions and time of day changes in maps

that’s literally it

You can give me OW1 and I will literally be missing nothing from OW2

I cant be mad over something that doesn’t even break the character limit requirement.
Im getting more value out of using your post to bump this topic than anything you’ve ever slobbered over your keyboard for on this forum. And probably more value than you’d ever get in a 30 minute comp game.

As a pure support player I love how fast paced and action packed 5v5 is.

6v6 was alright, but 5v5 is a lot of fun.

I don’t believe anyone actually likes it, I think for most it is just ‘relief’ that Blizzard finally threw a bread crumb of content after 3 years of blatant and purposeful deprivation. It’ll never be enough though so long as the rampant greed remains in the game.
