Ive played overwatch for years but valorant is a definitely what you more expect from a FPS. Overwatch we have a girl who can suck you from 5 miles away,a guy swinging a hammer, A hamster in a ball who slambs on enemies. And valorant definitely feels better to play with its emphasis on actual skill. (I still like overwatch though and i doubt it will kill it im just saying its a better game for the genre and makes more sense).

you do realise genré wise valorant is a tactical shooter, it just have characters in it with abilities instead of being non-descript regular “shooter mcshooterson” kind of standard character that have no super powers.

People camp that game a crap ton. It looks so boring and if you die early you spend no time playing until the round is over.
WIth OW at least I can play Death match between games.

Genuinely curious if people compared TF2 and CS:GO like this back in the day
tell it like it is, it’s a counterstrike mod that’s got some polish to it.
i’ve played similar mods in the past, anyone remember the WC3 hero mod in CS 1.6?
probably more compared TF2 to QuakeLive because the TF 2 series started off as a quake mod.
People keep saying this without seeing or playing any of the gameplay.
TTK is extremely low and there’s a LOT of other things you need to worry about like Viper’s massive amount of visual clutter from her poison clouds.
Speaking of which it’s absolutely hilarious to see people put Valorant/ LFT Valorant in their Twitter bio or name as if they’ve even played a second of it.

Valorant is different from Overwatch and more like CS:GO.
“Overwatch but actually good” would be Paladins with its larger emphasis on skill and strategic thinking.
Overwatch is a team shooter like TF2, while Valorant is a tactical shooter that is more like CSGO.

Just watch some gameplay. Do you see tanks, or supports, or teams rolling around in a death ball? No. It’s barely a team game. That’s not a knock, it’s an amazing shooter, but it really boils down to your individual skill to secure kills. Long story short, it’s good for what it is, but it’s definitely not “overwatch but actually good”.

I see you disagreeing, but I don’t see any argument as to why. Trying to make the “lol paladins gay” argument makes you look like a bandwagoning fool who hasn’t tried the game.
valorant couldnt be further from OW…and actually looks terrible…

I’m a little worried for valorant. not to say it is a bad game because it looks really well polished. but it’s going to still have agents that are better than the rest. so a meta will still exist regardless. it’s just a lot of one shot skills and it has a crap ton of corner peaking and is a very slow moving game. it also has a very very very steep entry level which makes it very anti casual. sure the hardcore crowd will like it, but will the abilities make hardcore shooter fans angry. walls everywhere fire attacks and Rez is still going to be a frustrating experience for fps players. I just think it may be too niche.
