so basically my entire experience in comp this season has been the past 2 days (i dont typically play comp)…but in the 20-30 or so matches ive played so far (including placements) i have seen 5 dps exactly…0 times…in fact every single game has had max 3 dps…and people have been switching around when things arent working…
i thought the game was supposed to be rampant dps one tricks and throwers? maybe im just the literal luckiest person ever

Why are people wasting their energy on crying about 2-2-2. The overwatch team thought it was important enough that they worked on it for a whole year. your crocodile tears aren’t going to change anything.

To OP, you’re pretty lucky if you haven’t come across any 5dps comps. I have an idea; insta-lock hanzo/widow/torb or sym and the team will most likely go third/fourth dps.
Statistically, it basically never happens. That being said, with 222 looming, I have seen a surge of it myself. Not necessarily 5 of them, but a lot more quad DPS.
4/5 DPS is more of a QP issue than a Comp issue, but I have seen it in Comp as well. Even though it’s less common there, it’s really the mega suck because it actually has a demonstrable impact, whereas in QP you lose and… well, you lose, that’s it. Feelsbadman, but you didn’t drop in rank or anything.
But it also wouldn’t really make sense for QP to be more regimented than Comp, and adding RoleQ to comp has its own range of benefits anyway.
Baja, you’re not the only player that plays this game. Stop it. Role Queue isn’t made to only prevent those kinds of comps.
I’ve been told it’s because I don’t play DPS myself, but that doesn’t make sense since there should still be 4 without me and I rarely see more than 3.
They may not do anything, but they aren’t fake. They’re removing the most enjoyable ways to play the game for me. I’m not going to be happy about it.

I’ve been and still am playing QP a lot, and most of the time we had every role filled.
The gangrenous 5-6 DPS in QP is a myth, there was often someone to switch when it was really bad.
But since 2-2-2 has been announced it’s a DPS frenzy on live QP… I rarely see less than 4 DPS

Crocodile tears get the game changed all the time, including this particular instance of forced 222, so there is a precedent for it, at least.
Lucky, I had 3, 5 dps comps last night. If any one picks a sym, toeb or widow the cancer ensues.
Happens more the lower the bracket you are.
At 1300mmr out of 10 games yesterday I had someone swapping to heals mid match without saying anything so we were 2 1 3 at a crucial point.
Had multiple games where I had to solo tank with 1 heal.
If you flex yourself, you wont run into a 5 dps often because usually at least one more person will flex giving you a 1 4 1.
But what ends up happening is I have to tank anyways so at least now I get a faster queue than people who refuse to do anything but dps, and I get a loot box.

I’m not even sure where people started talking about these 5 dps comps. Role queue was meant to fix the problem of having 3-4 dps comps, which are not viable except in very specific situations (usually in a mirror comp).
QP is full of that
