If the 4chan leaks are true, then sometime around May probably
Jeff said they will focus more on Reaper’s story in the future, so I think it’s gonna be sooner than you might think

Presumably after the Reaper buff, cuz right now, any half-decent soldier will wreak a Reaper lol.
Jokes aside, i would wager not so soon. Any lore they release for the past is set. For instance, when they released uprising, they already solidified a part of the overwatch history. They can’t mess where Tracer got her catchphrase, or why London has high omnic tensions anymore.
I would guess they are less than willing to release too much lore too quickly since it limits a lot of the things they can do

I know it’s unlikely all those leaks are true
But I really hope they are because man, everyone having to choose a side? Loads of new lore all year? Leading up to a movie next year?? That would be so awesome 
not talking a fight between them in the past. Talking about current day Reaper and 76 finally throwing down once and for all without Ana or Talon getting in the way
Or they could always retcon it like they did with Brigitte’s age

no! i don’t want that! a comic can do it, i prefer them using their time working on heroes that have no animted shorts yet (soldier has), and if you search for fight shorts you wont find them here unless that have a purpose (like in honor and glory).
A fight between them could still have a purpose. Chances are if they fight it could include banter between them and that could include a lore bomb drop of some kind which would be a cool way to tease a new hero, ret con what people think they know about something, or move the story forward to the next chapter.
Though I see what you mean, given how shorts seem to take longer and longer and longer to come out it probably is best used on a hero that hasn’t gotten the spot light. Though I would be very disappointed if we got the fight through a comic given how much they have hyped it up and built up the tension between the two. It seems only fitting that their next encounter be either it’s own short or part of something longer like a WoW cinematic tends to be.
Also, I kind of feel like Blizzcon would be the optimal place for it…
