So Toxic. Why Play This Game? Told to "kys"

I haven’t played in a while. I come back and I made a light joke that I don’t know how to heal as moira before a game starts. My first game back. Someone says “ky” I ask what that means. They say “ky” again and I say “what does that mean” Eventually they say “ky” and then follow it with an “s” in a follow up directly after the ky.
I tell people in match to report the guy. Then my entire team is yelling saying “no report the moira they said they aren’t going to heal.” What is this cesspool? I looked into it and people have started playing with chat disabled and no comms. Why even play a team game if you have to protect yourself from communications?

I have absolutely no idea, but it’s best to just not even interact with these psychopaths to be perfectly honest. You gain nothing from it. If communicate is what makes the game fun for you, you are going to have a bad time.

Just report and gg go next.

are you the type of person to tell someone to kill themselves after they make an extremely benign joke?

@ThiccBuddha I am not saying communication is what makes the game. I am saying it is a team game that requires communication to coordinate. If people have to wall themselves there is less coordination.

Oh, definitely. It is a bit of a bummer. Back in my day plenty of people used mics and you could make friends. Blah blah blah. It was great. Early days of Overwatch were that way and coming together as a team was a wonderful feeling.

It just does not happen any longer. It makes me sad.

So if someone is a danger to potential people who actually are along those lines of doing what they were told…

Your response is to report them? Nah, gurl…
As much as I agree with being part of the problem 'till they fix the system, this ain’t what I support. Go get some therapy. O_o

Report the aggressor, never the person trying to defend themselves. Lmao.
Just makes you sound like you’re the type to also report people telling others to report someone in match chat who is spewing slurs.

tell them to f off, if there is communication there is going to be toxicity

I’ve always found the “it is the internet it will always be toxic” as a weak defense for there being toxicity in places that are supposed to be moderated.

you cant stop it either, no matter how moderated it is, just ignore and report

No it doesn’t. I said I hope they can get help, but if they can’t. I could see how nuance is lost on forums though

there is nothing nuanced about that post

Ignoring the “i hope you can be helped” which was the major part then sure.

but that cancels out the

i can see why people are writing this in the chat now

are we going in circles? you are ignoring the “If you don’t get help”

there was nothing constructive in the ending of the statement, no circles were walked, just the irony of not seeing your own toxicity

“I can only hope your bloodline ends with you” ….doesn’t add to toxicity? I don’t think there’s any way you can spin that into a positive comment with ‘nuance’ my dude.

Anyone who starts crap or continues it by retorting gets a report from me. I wanted to play a videogame, not spectate an elementary school argument. I don’t care who started it, you’re all bumming me the f*** out.

i mean you literally and deliberately quoted the last half of the sentence excluding the modifier.
