I don’t like skins where you have to see Rein’s head, so the football one definitely works for me.
Also I like how they look sorta robotlike (especially Rein). Gives a nice twist on just the pure sports theme.

I think it works for Reinhardt, since his proportions are already a bit messed up since he’s wearing armor. But Roadhog is a human (albeit huge and hulking) and I’m not a big fan of that metal-like mask.

i just hope there are going to be more skins. feels like they’re just handing out skins to heroes who already have a huge amount, meanwhile winston/moira/brig/doom still have hardly any options. Winston’s lack of skins is the most ridiculous, given he’s an og hero.

He’s one of the ones who just got a new skin. Or are you saying just overall he hardly gets any?
I personally think his new skins every time aren’t as creative as they could be. Yeti is still my favorite, though.
Your suggestions are awesome. I love you for putting into words my subconscious opinion on the skin: they look like omnics! It’s the same vibe I got from Soldier 76’s Venom and Cyborg: 76 skins.
Cybjörn obviously gets a pass because oh my god, that name. EDIT: He does look like a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese, though. But that’s delicious and so is he, so it’s fitting.

I get what people are saying in regards to how the skins have a different feel about them and that they like those skins for doing that. Which is perfectly fine!
After all, it is Blizzard’s game, so it’s up to them how they want to design their heroes.
Not gonna lie, every Reinhardt I see with that skin I will always think of the Cleveland Browns… and their loss streak. Sad day when the Oakland Raiders would have been a better choice, and they have an almost equally bad win rate over the last 40 years.

I’m personally not a huge fan of the ‘sports’ themed skins but I also do not play sports, so it just doesn’t appeal to me at all =\ I was hoping for something else
I mean, I played soccer for 12+ years, but there’s something about the sports-theme skins that has a…medieval sports vibe. I guess because the sports gear looks more like armor than actual uniforms?
They’re still cool designs, but they feel a little out of place, or forced. I really can’t describe it.

I was really hoping for more summer skins, as opposed to sports skins, because summer skins are fun and… look at Ana. She’s precious in those clothes.
Said this, it’s not like I hate the sport skins as a whole, but like Spud, I’m biased about Rein and I like to see his face. The double robot helmet thing is… yeah. Not something I fancy. I understand tho, there are people that like him better with a helmet (I like his original design a lot, too), and that’s OK – just this skin looks like he’s a robot, and I don’t like that :<
I also agree on Hog. Too bright. The mask is also scary as ***** which I guess is intended, but um. CreamFraiche put it well – it’s more sci-fi than sports, ends like a weird combination.

The more I think about it, I think you are correct in why many people aren’t enjoying the sports skins.
I think they are cool, but that’s because I’m a sucker for fantasy stuff / heavily armored warriors or robots. They have a very weird theme of being heabily armored trucks, but also I’m supposed to think Hog is gonna play lacross. And he doesn’t give that vibe. Nor does rein for a football player.

I actually thought about this, vaguely, which is why I sort of “want” the Roadhog skin. I always had a problem with his shotgun, it seemed like cheap plastic when I just want to rock a sawed off. However, this one is so… Cybernetic looking? It is still plastic-esque. But it seems future-y, like an omnic weapon. I do not know, but my sister and I were talking about how Reinhardt looks like a generic enemy from a E-rated game which sort of correlates with the proposition that he appears as an omnic.
That being said, I just hate them because they are sports related. Ew. If anything, the fact that they are more “armored” is better for me because my least favorite skin is probably the BMX Reaper and the first Summer Games was BY FAR my least favorite event. Not just because of the attempt at anti-consumer practices… But the quality and amount of skins made me want to vomit. Disgusting, fam.
Summer would be my favorite theme if they did not waste it will all of these sports related skins. It was understandable during the Olympics, but they should seriously cut it out for the three off-years. They are going to run out of ideas by time the 2020 Olympics start.

I want Hammond Death Ball added in as a new summer event game. Lucio Ball is stale. Huge field, slow players.

Blizzard hates Europe? Yeah, we know.
I guess because Junkrat has his Cricket skin and Lucio has the football (soccer) covered? Then Tracer has track and field. Zarya has the weightlifter. And now we got American football, lacross, and baseball covered.
So yeah. This year’s skins were definitely American-based.
