do you think there should be a base damage increase or max damage increase still?
I used to think base beam damage should be 80 with max damage of 200 and mid damage staying the same. now i only want a max damage change of 200. spending time in close range or the enemy possibly multiple enemies long enough to ramp level 3? cmon just give me that swpeet 200 dps for letting my badass microwave get so close to them for so long. what gives i say.

Maybe an increased base damage but a max of 200 sounds like an absolute nightmare especially with the reduced time it needs to charge the gun.

The problem with Symmetra really isn’t her charge rate/beam alone, it’s the fact that she can’t stick around too much in the fight to even bother with charging it, which is why her old Photon Barrier would be nice to have back as a 3rd ability, (the one that moved in front of her), it really helped her in team fights since she could attack people and not be killed so easily.

Bastion can do more than that, doesn’t make him OP or even good, and he doesn’t even have to charge up to his max DPS.

I think it should rip shields.from the enemy and put them on Sym, have them decay pretty quickly, but it would give her a reason to get into combat, and survivalability when she needs it.

Exactly, her fragility plays a big role into why her M1 is so weak.
Her old barrier though, wouldn’t help much. If it moved slower and had a shorter cooldown it probably could but it would take a year for Blizzard to actually make up their minds and give it the buffs it needs.

Perhaps to a mercy but heal per second should NEVER outheal a dps, thats just bad design.
She, at maximum charge, is the quintessential glass cannon. People will absolutely melt before her beam, but the slightest bit of focus on her and she’s just dead. To effectively use Symm as she is now, you would need a team focused around her and that’s just…not very viable overall.

Bastion also gets eaten by anyone with range, has a massive hitbox and is forced to stay still, so it’s not a fair comparison to Symmetra.

Similar to that concept, I think they should increase her ammo capacity to 100 and if she damaged Barrier and Shield Health(Zen’s 150 HP, Zarya’s Bubbles, Doom-Fist Passive, Rein’s Shield) she should gain back 30/45/60 Shield Health and when she’s full-health, she could gain up to 100 Barrier that would decay over 10s. This way she could actually survive in a fight against some heroes(but not all, which would balance the self-healing out).
And Symmetra gets eaten by everything designed to fight in her beam’s range because she has no survivability, no mobility, no combat sustain, and basically has to be stationary if she wants to accurately track with the beam. In both cases, the DPS they have in a given range is counteracted by how easily they die in those ranges.
Name a close-range hero that doesn’t have the potential to one-shot. Rein? He can pin if he has to. Roadhog, Reaper, Doomfist, etc - they all dispatch instantly or near-instantly.
She does not need a damage increase. Level three primary weapon has about the third highest dps and doesn’t have the spread or shotgun effects to force a decrease in damage. If you can aim level three beam is strong.
But level one beam is the fourth lowest dps in the game. The reason it feels so bad is that you spend two second doing the worst damage in game with nothing to make up for it like the rest of the cast whose weapons are that weak have.

WHat? When did I mention healing, I’m confusion…
Brigitte cannot one shot but her combo and her tools can assist in taking out one character in under 2 seconds.
Mei cannot one shot but she can set up her opponents for easy headshots by slow down and her Ultimate can have her kill 3-4 opponents by herself, with teammates a team kill is very likely if there are no counter Ultimates.
Junkrat
'Nade, mine, next; 'Nade, mine next; ultimate. Under 5 seconds if the stars align. Kill potential is high.
Mcree
If you don’t have a barrier tank, you are getting two tapped. 2 seconds minimum TtK.
Genji
3 star to the head, melee, 3 star/swift strike, 360-3 star melee. Still high kill potential and that’s not even mentioning Dragon Blade.
The only two that are not as deadly are D.va and Winston.
Mercy melees teleporter and continues healing.
Edit:
Scratch that, ANYONE can melee the TP bomb and render it useless.
Orbs are the only decent thing.
The trick is to spawn the teleporter a few paces behind a character, that way the damage is done before they can turn around to negate it.
It’s good on paper but there are so many attacks that negate TP bombs since most range attacks do splash and over 30 damage.
It only works with mid-low tier opponents or once in high ranks.
I don’t know, Seagull seems to get away with it anytime and he just spams the TP bomb.
