That means I can’t play her to her fullest potential because shes heavily team reliant despite every other hero being fine with or without simple communication?

Sombra is dependent on communication, yes. So communicate. Nothing is stopping you from playing Sombra, or being effective with her.

She isn’t locked behind anything. And her kit ain’t weak. Bad players just don’t know how to use it. That doesn’t stop you from using it, assuming you’re good enough. Your teammates do not control what you play.

The reason people say that shes good in pro play and that she shouldnt be buffed is because that means that she has the potential to be REALLY usefull to a team. Like, shes meta at pro play, that means that she has a ton of potential. You will climb as time goes on and get better at sombra and so will your teammates, and nothing will change to sombra. If she was made easier to utilise in lower levels, then it would wreak havoc in the areas where she wasnt an issue previously. And the best players cant just improve more (lol 4head) but the lower ranked players can.
Whats communication locked behind? 25 dollars to spend on a mic? Being dependant on communication != being locked behind something.

Pros drill comms and train together. Public players don’t even join voicechat much of the time. I agree with the original post: Why is Sombra the only hero that requires something not even built into Overwatch to be effective?
I find it ironic that a month ago, nearly everyone was in agreement that Sombra was the worst hero, right next to Bastion.
But, because she was played in contenders, everyone suddenly turned a blind eye and followed the sheep that is OWL, and she wont be getting a buff that she desperately needs.

Your teammates are not really as dumb as you think, and if you ask, you will overwhelmingly have 6 people in voice chat. Really just calling out where stuff is and putting thoughts in there head as to what they should do will get you up. “hey im behind the zen lets dive him ok” “hey im gonna hack the rein ez kill press w”

Then contenders rolled around and showed me her POTENTIAL. It showed me that sombra CAN work, and that if I want sombra to work, IM gonna need to change how I play. And thats a me problem, not a balance problem.
Im exclusively talking about comp though. QP is unknown. But the enemy is equally uncoordinated so play off of that.
It seems to match up pretty well to my matches. Players will generally join voice chat, especially if you request it, unless you’ve (or a teammate) given them a reason to not do so.
That can be said about literally any hero in contenders. Contenders/pro/OWL all maximize on communication 24/7. I’ve seen them make Bastion/Sym, and even Torb work.
Does that mean those heroes are necessarily in a good place? No, and they shouldn’t be bared from getting buffs because pros made those heroes look good in a few games.
If they keep catering to pros and put their attention more towards OWL for another year, I can’t see myself playing this game any longer.
They rarely make it work sucessfully to the point that both teams run it…
also sombra is actually an issue in my (diamond) games. Hack is still really good.
