So regarding the Sombra changes

Every buff has come at a cost. That cost has always been higher than what was gained.

It’s like her balancing is done by some evil Djinn.

The changes shes getting in the PTR are nice, but her hack is still completely bugged and considerably more weaker thanks to LOS and forced into a 2s cooldown when shot.

Can’t make some jumps, but you literally have infinite stealth. Walk where you need to go. If you need trans to get there, cancel the one you have out and wait 4 seconds for a new one. Sonic arrow was buffed for hanzo. This change has nothing to do with that at all. Hanzo just has different use for it now.

Aye, agreed, it sounds like a clunky mechanic. And unnecessary. They could just do a tap/hold mechanic instead.

Tap the Translocator button to teleport; hold the button for 1 second to recall (destroy) the Translocator. Much more flexible and it doesn’t need an extra button. If they want to discourage recalling it during combat they could add a short animation wherein she stands still and radios the Translocator back while channeling the recall action.

The Interact button es no beuno.

There’s no benefit to being outside the match infinitely. You have to engage, you have to play the game with your team.

Yeah, i don’t disagree with that. I think the infinite time is a nice, but wasn’t really what was needed or asked for.

Given that we interrupt Stealth a lot manually ourselves anyway, it’s fairly clear that the current duration works okay for us, and that there’s not a lot to be gained from adding more to it.

I don’t even think its nice because of the price we have to pay for it. Seriously, I’d much rather keep the live iteration of stealth.

why? unless its zarya or zen you didn’t damage them. thatd be like giving mercy elims for damage boosting those who killed them.

I didn’t red all of the comments, so I’m sorry if someone has written something about it already, but I also want to say something about it.

First, isn’t that unlimited Translocator killing her mobility completely?
You can only go back to the position you set it down before. You can’t do escape jumps on top of some buildings anymore, because your Translocator ran out of time (in a teamfight or while distracting the enemy in the backline).
Instead you jump all the way back and need to go to your team again.
Also, mostly you will only be able to kill her in a teamfight or by camping her Translocator.

Second, I think the unlimited stealth is ok, as some people said before, you won’t be invis the whole time, you gonna shoot someone, so it doesn’t really matter if she get the buff or not.
But the sad thing about it, is that you can camp a poor player permanently by just staying next to the respawn room, wait invis and if you are about to lose the fight, you can easily jump back, because of your unlimited Translocator time.

Agreed, if you know how to play Sombra, these changes are just nerfs, bad ones at that!

I can’t believe she still has those annoying stealth cast time/delays. At least make them shorter… And even a .1 or .2 second faster reload would be nice to keep her engaged in fights.

This is a pretty big nerf if anything. Blizzard, Hammond is ADORABLE and seems like the higher difficulty tank hero we’ve been asking for but WTF ARE YOU DOING TO SOMBRA. She is already the least viable hero in the game with the current meta but this is the wrong direction to go. It doesnt matter if you can get behind enemy lines (even tho you cant make most of the jumps you used to be able to with the speed nerf) when you still dont have great dps to get picks to begin with. Sombra’s inability to get pick offs and her hack being straight up broken since the “fix” you guys hastily put through is whats preventing her from being at all viable.

Sombra should not gain any ult charge if shes in stealth mode.

From what little I played of Sombra on the PTR, she feels a lot better to play now.
Idk if this will make her usable, just that she feels less frustrating on a mechanical level now.
Which is an improvement in my books.

Thou if she is still in need of improvements in the future, I’d like to see her coming out of stealth time reduced, so she can hack/shoot faster. It would help her feel and timing more.

I don’t think the infinite invisibility nor translocator is necessary, but I also don’t think it warranted the nerfs that came with it. I don’t think the buffs were significant enough, especially when you account for what you lost (flank routes/contesting points/you have to play more passive due to increased detection radius). The infinite translocator feels nice, sure, but her lifeline being able to be destroyed + the fact that it removes the discipline/risk/fun (for me)difficulty from a flanker + will definitely be a focal point of suggested nerfs in the future (ex “she now has a no risk disengage” even if that’s wrong because Sombra can still be stunned, quickly focused fired, and/or bursted down before she can translocate away). If they just added the buffs alone, I don’t think it would’ve been significant enough to make her an objectively good or okayish hero. Would I hate the changes if they were solely the buffs? Of course not, I probably wouldn’t love them though. It just feels like they’re pushing Sombra into an undesirable direction. Fitzyhere and WorstSombra are examples of prominent high-tier Sombra players who don’t like the changes.

Sombra’s now easier, but at the cost of impact.
