So queue times are getting worse

No just today i saw a stream of a well known fortnite streamer saying he will do 2 sponsored ow2 streams this week. Streamers are still getting paid to play it. I suppose most of the deals end in 2 weeks but idk how long blizzard plans on paying them.

If you can’t see what is plainly going on, that is on you.

And one of the best bug reports ever.

What happened to Lucio? He feels so weak. The only support I’m enjoying is Moira right now. And yes, I queue as flex(passive aggressive support).

Yeah I just hope they pull it off well if they do go for it. Although support isn’t very popular right now, the overall game as a whole feels fun and good for the majority of players. If this change is done poorly it could end up making supports unpopular and the overall game unfun for the other roles too, or make supports more fun while making the overall game marginally less fun for the other roles, kind of like how what 5v5 did already by making tanks and DPS super fun and supports not so fun.

I don’t envy the Balance team’s job.

The Mercy changes I heard as an example weren’t too promising. Nerfed healing, less movement penalty on rez, healing lingers for 1 second on allies after you take your beam off, reduced pistol swap time. I’d kind of want more drastic modernization of supports to fit into 5v5 I think.

This right here, people shouldn’t be seeing me as ragging on the Balance team here. Their job is crazy hard.

Who would have guessed that removing coin rewards every time you joined quickplay as certain roles had consequences especially considering the reasons why they did it in the first place!

there is no solution to this problem that doesnt involve removing role queue and reworking supports in a big way. which considering what your asking for its counter productive.

role-queue is required too keep the meta in check. (without it ow1 would of ended as some weird variant of goats or another tank focused comp)

but the queue times can be a bit rough in ranked.

so the solution is to undo the mistakes blizzard made that created goats but that will never happen. (because blizzard would rather rebalance the entire game then admit they killed it)

so you get 5v5 with role queue.

personally its alot more fun then ow1 has been in 4 years, it needs improvements but none of em would ever go through because people want “handrails” to exist in overwatch.

if you wanted the absolute BEST experience for everyone, you would have to rework all of the “easy” heroes first. the ones that are very popular in low elos typically.

on top of this you then need to rebalance everyone (including the previously reworked “noob friendly heroes”) so that every single hero, in every single role requires top-tier aim, great ability usage and positioning game sense, ect ect.

“but what about the casuals!”, thats what lower ranks are for.

see when you make every hero complex you get a much wider variety of people who want to play them.

someone that logs on to play mercy in silver isnt helping the queues in gold, plat, diamond masters or gm.

now before people yell at me for being elitest im not saying they should actually do this, im saying this is how you solve the problem.

i think having heroes with a lower entry skill requirement is good aslong as they arnt meta. but having them in game causes massive balance issues in lower elos which then deter’s people from wanting to try anything new.

if your a hard stuck gold your not going to want to learn sombra when junkrat is tearing it up in your elo.

the amount of effort it takes to get value out of a new hero is outweighted by the joy people feel when they win with a “easy hero”.

Support player - I think I am done queuing support until Widow / Sojourn are fixed, if they want to leave them broken I’m just queuing DPS and playing those characters

Nah role q is not the problem.

It would make the game worse not having role q.

Well, making the support role not a total wreck to play would be my solution. But what do I know.

By that you mean, remove all of the flanker counters while flankers are the biggest problem?

I do NOT think that would help.

Way to make the problem far far far worse.

You think the lower ranks are not currently full to their damn ears with Genji players right now?

How are you going to get the new support players to actually play more than a few games before they quit for the night?

i played the game pre role queue, pre goats. and it was great

you dont need a forced 2/2/2 comp in 6v6 to win, you needed to be better then your team.

even top 500s would sometimes run 6 dps and run over a proper 2/2/2 comp.

the only people who begged for role queue were the people that thought comp was all that mattered in climbing. those same people are still hard stuck gold and they just blame it on smurfs and throwers now.

DPS- “Get rid of CC and hard counters!!!”

10min queues

DPS- “Now hol’ up a minute…”

Wanting to not be the only support in a game full of DPS isn’t a big ask. It was not fun. They didn’t want awful games, do you not understand that?

for your first point; thats the goal of reworking them. supports right now are insanely strong and meta defining.

but dont let a gold sup main hear you say that or they’ll tell ya you dont know anytihng.

for your 2nd point, by reworking every single hero to require top tier aim ect ect, you then create a meta where skill is all that matters.

the flankers would lose to better supports/dps 100% of the time. its a win win

the issue is people know they arnt good enough to live in that world so they push against it.

and as i said, im not saying they should do it. but it would solve the problem.

Yea i did that as well. You are not the only one that was playing.

People picked dps and when you are lucky you got a tank and a healer or worse 4 support mains on the team suddenly fighting to play mercy. It was horrible and your brain is playing with you when you really think preroleq was amazing. It had many flaws.

If you work for blizzard this sounds like a great idea. It encourages people to buy the BP. That would not work to get me to play support but maybe all the whales would do it(no they would not).

fun doesnt matter, winning was the goal

and having 1 sup 1 tank and 4 dps might not sound great but winning at the end is all that mattered.

all role queue does is split the ranked players between open and role, and then FORCE people to play specific roles instead of allowing people too have 1 global rank and be able to flex.

you ever have a match where your kiriko is clearly focusing on DPS but your locked into dmg yourself so you cant swap to bap or ana too help you the 2nd healer?

What you fail to understand is supports are stronger the more the team is coordinated.

So yes, they are super strong in high ranks. Because you have coordination.

But, lower ranks don’t have that. so they are not anything like as strong down there.

So the Gold support main is ALSO correct.

No, it also meant people could sidestep a bunch of garbage games in low / mid ranks.

When Blizzard put out the data on how many people were queueing for OpenQ vs RoleQ it was EXTREMELY obvious which people were prefering.

Peeps didn’t want to play openQ, and for good reason.

Well they released a very high skill floor support so yes it is normal

When they will release a hybrid tank/support this is when it gonna be at

lol the difference is i won most my matches.

low elo players always thought the comp your team played mattered the most when all that mattered was the players. it was better to have someone play a hero they were good at then to force them to flex to rein or ana.
