So many options with Role Queue

Thanks to Role Queue, you now have the ability to select from becoming:

A) A support main.
B) Waiting 10 minutes between each 8 minute game.
C) A Reinhardt (or Orisa) main.
D) Get reported for throwing.

Thankfully we’ve been rescued from the oppressive restrictions of the past in favor of this liberating new system! Thank you, Blizzard.

There is no sarcasm in this thread, this is genuine appreciation.

Reinhardt currently sucks though? He is the worst tank out of all the tanks currently?

Sorry, mate, fixed it for you.

On the DPS part I can agree, but the other categories? Who says you have to play Reinhardt? Play any hero you find fun.
This is a GAME people, for FUN and ENTERTAINMENT. You’re not a professional OWL player.

Sorry, mate, fixed it

thats why he add the “D) get reported for throwing”

Where did this “you’re not an OWL pro” mentality come from? Why even have competitive queue if the 99% aren’t OWL pros lol?

I’m not saying don’t be competitive, I’m saying be competitive but play what you find fun. People treat this game like it’s some job that puts bread on their table.
I know that it is for some people, but for 99% of the people it’s just a video game, and should be treated as such.

Fun doesn’t fulfill the objective of the game lol

But what is the objective of video games in general? What is their purpose?
The objective surely is not to be miserable, which a surprising amount of people are, at least based on posts on this forum.

If there’s no difference between, say QP or Comp, because the objective is to have fun and nothing else, then why are there two modes? Why is there a score? Why is there balancing? Why was 2/2/2 implemented?

Obviously it’s not as simple as “videogame are fun”

I’m not saying that there isn’t a difference, you actually just pointed out the differences yourself. The competitive mode has a scoring/skill rating system which gives you a number that tells you how you are doing compared to everyone else who playes the game.

The balancing is there to make sure the game stays “fair”, and so that it keeps changing, which prevents it from becoming stale and keeps it fun and entertaining in the long run.
For Blizzard and for the people who play this game for a living, sure it is a job and should be taken seriously. But for the average person who sits at home and plays a few hours a day/week/whatever (which is pretty much 99% of the people), it is just a game.

Why doesn’t it matter if it’s competitive and fair if it’s just for fun? Literally pick anything, don’t even play the objective, it’s just fun!

We just need to tap into our inner Shakespeare. I am sure we can do it because Jeff believes.

So you’re saying that it’s impossible to play to win AND have fun at the same time?
And sure, you can pick anything and not play the objective, the game has a mode for that too!

Nah we’re talking about comp. Pick what you want and just have fun. Don’t worry about anything else!

Loool I guess I did become a support main, you got me.

Ironically, my games are more fun now.

Now you’re just trolling. The win condition of the competitive mode is to capture the objective, that’s a rule of that particular game mode.
It still doesn’t change the fact that it is a game made for fun.

But since you disagree, can you tell me what you personally think it was made for, if not fun?

Casual competition.

Yeah cuz rein and orisa are the only tanks. totally
