So. Lets talk about the Pink Mercy skin

Indeed

However, considering it’s not gonna happen, it’s not really worth discussing

when and if Blizzard decides the skin will come back, it will come back…no matter how many forum members declare it can never happen

this is an overwatch-related topic on a discussion forum set up specifically for discussion of overwatch-related topics

and many forum members have joined in on this specific discussion

as such, it is clearly worth discussing

No no no, just because people are discussing it doesn’t mean it’s worth discussing. It doesn’t spark any interesting debate and talking about it isn’t gonna bring it back.

If talking about it could have brought it back, it would have brought it back considering how much it’s discussed and how what the skin is for is an everlasting deal.

This literally means nothing to say. This is tantamount to “if Blizzard decides the skin will never come back, it will not come back…no matter how many forum members declare it can happen”.

Meaningless statement that is self-referential.

Can’t argue with this logic. But it probably won’t help.

The scandals are the main problem I think: Overwatch via Blizzard is tainted; from a female perspective for non-gamers just the suggestion they did a fundraiser with a known set of boys running “The Cosby Room” and a girl killing herself in conjunction with a BCRF drive is suicide on social media. The Woke Mob would go nuts over this association. This is now why we can’t have nice things.

By now they know people want it, to go on weekly about it is not doing anything but just being annoying. I mean if the thinking is like some sit-in protest nonsense, I can assure you Blizzard looks at the title of these threads and moves right on by… they have long since decided to ignore the desire.

It may not even be ignoring it beyond just ignoring why they aren’t acknowledging it.

They probably just can’t bring it back for legal reasons

where is pink mercy. in different languages, just so there is no misunderstanding

just joking, wouldnt mind if she comes back

They did acknowledge it several times, with direct statements of “There are no plans to bring it back”.

I darn sure know they’d have to get BCRF agreement since its now associated with them for a specific drive effort.

What’s amazing is many here going on about Mythics would turn and drop $50 on this skin if they could… such hypocrites here so often.

As much as I’d like to see it, thanks to the Cosby Room antics it won’t most likely.

quite on the contrary - if it werent worth discussing, no one would be discussing it

as such, yes, it is well established that this topic is worth discussing

in my experience, it seems that the only folks who dont want it discussed are those who already have he skin and dont want to disturb its alleged uniqueness, despite the fact that about 900 thousand copies are out there

I have found the discussion interesting, personally

what some folks dont find interesting, others do

this is an opinion stated as if it were fact

I personally feel it is important to keep discussing this topic so that the decision makers see that interest in this skin remains strong, even years after its original release. I believe such constant reminders to the decision makers has a chance of helping change their minds

not necessarily.

such things take time and patience

actually, it has plenty of meaning, specific to the statement that it replied to

the statement it was in reply to indicated the skin will never return, as if this was or is a fact. It isnt a fact, and more importantly, no forum member has the decision making power required so make such a call

when a company finds itself in a public relations mess, quite often charitable actions are turned o as par of the repair effort. as such, it is even more important now that Blizzard engage in such activities

further, with Microsoft coming in and Kotick leaving, Blizzard is less and less the company it was with each passing day

not at all

instead, what is occurring is that the decision makers can see a continuous and strong demand for the product, even years after the original offering. This keeps the question open, on an ongoing basis. If the discussion ceases, the question becomes out of sight and ergo out of mind

this would be another case of an opinion stated as if it were fact.

unless one is claiming to speak for Blizzard and their activities?

are you an official Blizzard spokesperson?

in any case, Blizzard is not one person, not one mind, not one reader. Some folks may indeed skip these threads. Others may read and take them to heart

another opinion stated as if it were fact.

is there any evidence to support this claim?

Exactly.
You are comparing skins, that doesn´t even look similar…
What I like on pink Mercy is mostly her haircut, her dress and her staff.
What I dislike is the pink color, but I would still use it for things I like about her.
Those other skins you mentioned have only that ugly color xD

The only people that don’t want to discuss it don’t care about whether the skin is available or not and dislike groveling over it.

Which is a majority of people

I don’t think you understand the mindset of superficial spoiled brats.

Maybe it may end up as a mythic skin later on.

Equally none can say it will. What we can do is say it’s not coming back based on two logical things:

  1. Blizzards own statements and

  2. The fact that thanks to controversy the odds are very, very, very low.

No they actually do find it annoying when they pay any attention to it. But again, feel free to continue spamming for it. Its not going to help.

They have directly indicated paying very little attention to the opinions and posts on the forums. When they see the same comments repeatedly in posts they have indicated too in discussions they blow past them.

I might be a lot closer than you think. What you want here is to just repeatedly cajole, beg and complain in threads for a skin that is frankly not on the docket nor is it respectful to everyone else in the forum because after a point, its just lowering the question to the level of spam, and in fact, is probably actually making Blizz internally annoyed and resistant to the idea.

People should stop asking for it as they have already been told that blizz has no plans of releasing it again.

not in my experience

I know of no valid data to support the claim of a majority made here

said plans can change

ergo the continuous discussion of this possibility

actually, there is no legitimate way one can say - as a fact - that it isnt coming back

whether one believes it will come back or it will not, either is an opinion – not a fact

those who believe it can indeed come back have every right to continue to discuss this possibiity, given that this forum is specifically intended for discussion of Overwatch related topics, and this most certainly is such a topic

again, this is a case of speaking for others as if one has been officially tapped to be such a spokesperson.

feel free to present your credentials

until that occurs, this is yet another case of an opinion sated as i it were fact, and worse still in this case, speaking as if one is an insider

There is no spam involved, actually

what is occurring is a continuous discussion of the topic to keep the question of the skin’s return on the table

there is nothing whatsoever wrong with that

Objectively we can say for the moment the odds are very low close to zero.

The fact is however that constantly spamming the forum on it isn’t helping the case.

Sure its your opinion vs. mine. OTOH you can’t give me any good reason to believe Pink Mercy has a snowball’s chance in hell of coming back given Blizz statements and the impact of the controversies.

For many of us, and people at Blizzard, it’s spam I assure you. I fully endorse your right to speak up; I’m just telling you at this stage its probably doing more damage than good.

You want to make something like this happen, here’s how: ask for something else for a charity, like a Pink Brig with a different fund. BCRF will not touch this with stick after the Cosby Room scandal. And the last thing MS wants is to have a controversy on their hands on an acquisition of an IP already floundering. Think.

If a majority of people wanted to discuss this topic, then you’d see multiple of this kind of thread every single day.

Instead it’s infrequently with lots of pushback

I use these two a lot since Pink is confirmed never coming back again. Wish they would change Sugar Plum’s wing color but they never will either.

I have every Mercy skin except for Pink so it sucks never going to be able to have it. Plus all the information about the money they raised was released on my birthday which felt like an even bigger loss, so I think I must be the most unlucky person ever lol.

Some Mercy mains have said you can’t be a real Mercy main without Pink! It sucks. I would do anything for another chance but I know that day will never come.

objectively?

not at all

the “close to zero” estimate is wholely and entirely subjective

actually, this isnt the case at all

as I have stated earlier, the continuous discussion of this topic keeps it on the table, in sight…it ensures that the decision makers keep getting reminded that - even years later - the demand for this product remains strong

I find it odd that you claim the otherwise as if it were a fact, which in turn once again implies that you are claiming to be one of the decision makers, despite how minute the likelihood of that actually is, along with complete the absence of any presented credentials

Hopefully the forum modss take notice of someone attempting to pass themselves off as a OW decision maker

with two elpephant-in-the-room sized difference

First, I am not claiming my opinions to be literal/objective facts

Second, I am no claiming or implying, even in a thinly veiled way, to be an Overwatch decision maker, an insider

can’t?

I already have given you several good reasons

the statement above once again implies that you are one of Blizzard’s decision makers, or otherwise on Blizzard’s management team; when no credentials or other evidence of any kind has been presented to validate that

again, one hopes that that the forum mods take note of this claim

and no, it isn’t spam, any more than many other OW-related topics have had many thread devoted to them over time. topics like Mercy, mass rez, role queue, and many many many others. There is an understanding on the forums…I dont think I have ever seen it in writing…that one is not to necro threads. as a direct result, thread subjects get repeated so that one does not violate this directive. as such, the repeated threads on this topic, as well as dozens of others, are a necessary result

I disagree

Many others I have discussed this same matter with disagree as well

There is a preference to ensure that the decision makers know that there is a strong demand for this product, even years after its original release

as I have stated many times before, I have no issue with a new charity skin being created.

but there are three problems with this line of thinking

first, such a new skin would require dev resources, time, and money. Are those resources available with the devs fully engaged in getting even the incomplete stage 1 of OW2 into production? Highly unlikely

second, you and others have claimed that charities don want to be associated with OW due to the recent scandals. But here, you claim some charity WILL want to be associated with Overwatch. After all, you cant have a charity skin without the charity. So which is it? Charities want to be involved with OW, or they do not? You cant have it both ways

third, this isnt an “or” situaiton. It is an “and” situation. As in, if a new charity skin were to be created, BOTH could be offerred for an even bigger bag of cash for charity

money talks

and companies in need of some PR repair often turn to works of charity to get that need filled

between these two effects, there is every reason to believe Blizzard would be willing to make an offer to BCRF attractive enough to make it happen

they already have that controversy, regardless of any approach they make to BCRF or other charities.

that milk has already been spilt, the cow has already left that barn

no additional controversy will ensue in performing good acts…these only help repai the damage already done

I do not appreciate the implied personal attack
