Mercy gets a skin, some of the community ask for changes to the color pallet/helmet because the they subjectively view the color scheme isn’t good.
People call them whiny/unappreciative/ungrateful blah blah
But… when Hanzo skin got released and people begged for his hair to be changed (and it did get changed) that was okay…?
Imo, I kinda like the skin because she doesn’t currently have a green themed legendary. However, doesn’t mean people can’t have an opinion.
I legitimately think it has to do with how the very vocal minority of Mercy mains kinda… ruined the image of the Mercy community, back when Valk was introduced/Mercy kept getting nerfed. (Aka the forum raids)
Now anytime a Mercy main voices an opinion, polite or not, they get shut down and called ungrateful and whiny, and other various insults.
Mercy mains are very entitled. Surpassed only by DvA mains. That being said, cosmetic design might be the one area that the dev’s should actually listen to the community. But I don’t really care because I like the new cosplaying Mercy skin and if they change it, I am sure I will like it as well.
Thing is Hanzo first iteration of Casual looked subpar to other skins quality.
I mean his hairs looked awful and out of place. And It was first skin to look incoherent like that.
Dragoon is … Meh. It is coherent as a skin dont have parts that look like they were made by interns.
Due to COVID-19, people are over reactive. With a reduction in activities outside the home, people lack ways to vent their frustrations.
They are redirecting their hatred and frustration towards a piece of art.
Don’t take any of the dragoon hate seriously.
I just do not like the skin… the pandemic has nothing to do with it. I have disliked skins before, mang. This is not my first rodeo.
I love the mercy skin!

Hanzo’s skin didn’t look like the comic. That was the major problem.
There is no precedent for mercys new skin to compare, just people going “I don’t like it” “It should be another color”
also… we have PLENTY enough threads about this. We didn’t need another.
Its a skin from a comic. The face/hair didn’t just look bad, it was inaccurate to the lore and looked much better when it was made to look how it did in the source material.
That’s different from the huge about face portions of the Mercy community have been undertaking since Dragoon Mercy’s appearance was revealed.

I think the thing i don’t like alot about mercy mains is there victim complex They have they always whine and cry at the slightest of changes while almost every other player just accepts it when it happens to their main and keeps playing the game. Its mainly the ones on the forum too the ones in game are fine.
Hanzo’s skin had bugs and was from an already existing look. Mercy’s is not.
Only because the skin was seen in a comic, and it didn’t properly replicate what was shown nearly a year in advance.
This skin had no such build up.
I’m not gonna wear this shoe since it doesn’t fit, but I still do feel obliged to mention that making generalizations like this isn’t appropriate for the situation.
I think it’s just because they don’t like the skin. Quarantine has nothing to do with it, it just doesn’t have that “dark” theme that Jeff teased, this is more of a “warrior/dragon” than it is a dark specter or ghost or something genuinely dark like what the mercy main community was hoping for.
Virus dont change my view on colors and skin designs, i was always picky with that.
Sorry to say but this community in general has been all of that for years. It’s nothing new. (Which is kinda sad.)
I just find it funny how people throw a tantrum about such things like the color or the helmet even. It’s a helmet for crying out loud, what’s so hard to understand about that? Have ya not seen what helmets looks like?
It’s not like all her skins should get you people horny when her hair flows in the wind or something.
Why does it even matter? You literally cant even see the helmet, etc except for your gun in gameplay.
Hanzo’s was objectively inaccurate and didn’t make any sense. Mercy’s is fine.
What’s hilarious is that they keep suggesting it he changed to purple, which would be awful and so damn typical of a Mercy skin. The green is fine.

Well tbf, again people go overboard with their complaints. There are even threads around titled: ‘Is Dragoon a late april fools joke?’ and ‘this skin is so disappointing’. Not to mention the sheer amount of threads.
People are reacting like it is Lightning Tracer levels of bad.
If you rly love it why remove its most iconic thing?
I love it the way it is and hope it does not get changed…
