I got kicked from an FFA match today because my internet dropped and I didn’t lose a lvl.
Maybe I just lost a lot of points and I’m on the verge of dropping. That wouldn’t be nice.
Yes, your endorsement level, which has no actual purpose, will continue to decay regardless of the game mode you play. However, you will not automatically drop a level(s) unless your account is punished, or you leave a competitive game.
Your endorsement level can decay if you leave an arcade match too many times, which I find odd as well. If it was a competitive arcade match like Copa Lucioball then I could understand it, but not games like deathmatch.
I think it makes perfect sense. When you leave anything except FFA DM, you are hurting the team you left behind. This punishes that behavior.
Here’s the logic: Blizzard don’t want you to leave any game. If you do, you get a punishment to try and encourage you to stop.
Honestly hoping they’ll add the exp penalty to Arcade games eventually too, since leavers are not okay, no matter the mode.
I left FFA DM and my level still decayed.
I agree that it shouldn’t apply to DM since it doesn’t negatively affect your ‘team’ (there is no team!).
If you leave a game in any gamemode you deserve to lose an endorsement level.
Also, you can’t endorse ANYONE in general in FFA DM. It shouldn’t apply at all.

It’s not just about the existence of endorsements in that game mode. It’s a way to judge the character of a player - someone who constantly leaves games, even if there isn’t endorsement in those games, isn’t someone I want to play with.
