I had to explain my jokes so many times in last few days, I almost lost hope.

Actually, Hog was the second-least picked tank (ahead of Winston) during the triple tank meta. Mind you, all the tanks (again, except Winston) were popular picks during that time. Rein/D.Va/Zarya was just that common.
I was a huge D.va main who even climbed to GM before Brigitte release.
Right now I’ve around 5 hours on the current season with her with 83% win (Master Rank , my profile is public ) rate but I don’t feel anything positive playing her right now, I feel like ;
-Doesn’t matter how much space I create, my DPS are extremely bad.
-I cannot finish anyone because nerfs and high burst healing specially Brigitte Armor
-Takes year to get a single kill (Same with Winston or Hammond)
-Peel as much I can my supports but there is a Free widowmaker uncontested the whole game and I cannot dive her anymore.
So on almost every match in Competitive instead of swapping to another Tank I just pick my current main ; Doomfist and hard carry the whole match getting picks that never died before like a Widow free and Ana free a Zen Free etc.
My last match on Junkertown I decided to go D.va on the attack side so no problems, we got the first point extremely quick until the enemy team reagruped and we got spawn camped because my S76 teammate didn’t got a single kill in 2 minutes of gameplay, so I had to put my main once again and then we manage to push the payload almost to the end with only 1 Tank.

Season 3 Tournament stats
Koreans in Apex do inflate the tournament stats for Winston but in any case, Hog was super popular, and there’s no reason to run both Zarya and Dva over Hog; you only really saw them both in quad tank because you absolutely needed the Hog to actually kill things.

I think maybe hog “had a meta” back when his hook/weapon were stronger. He was definitely a main threat that you had to watch out for.
Now he just kinda pulls you in close and tickles you… you know… a diddler. You worry about him, but you’re not scared of him lol
As a main tank, I often wait to see someone else take main tank first…it’s very rare that it happens.
And so I take main tank…nobody else wants it.
