So, I uninstalled

I just couldn’t anymore. I held on for a long time, hoping that things would get better, but the simple truth of the matter is that it’s more than one thing. The balance sweeps that led me to leave the tank role were the first things to make me start questioning things.

And I’m not saying tanks are unplayable. I can still jump on Sigma, Hog, Rein, Ball, or Zarya and get the job done. But a lot of the fun of being a tank for me is gone. The systems meant to alleviate queue times have only increased the number of throwers in a game for me looking only to get through a match so they can get a ticket. Which has done nothing to alleviate said queue times, by the by. I have just as much chance of having a ticket used as waiting for a match the same amount of time I would have without using a ticket at all.

I’m not having fun in this game anymore. It’s as simple as that, but I was holding on with the hope that maybe things would pick up again on Overwatch 2. But the changes we saw at Blizzcon shows a commitment to a style that is counter to what drew me to playing a tank in the first place. That, and we’re more than a year since Overwatch 2 was announced and we still have no roadmap for the game. We know what some of the maps look like, but we still don’t know where they are or expect to be in terms of development. We still have no expected release date.

And I’m not going to be disengenuous and say davs haven’t been doing things with the game proper, but running the same thing we’ve been getting for 5 years now with challenge modes to break up the monotony wore thin for me 3 events ago.

But the icing on the cake that really cemented my decision are the bad faith business practices. Banning a player and revoking his win because he made a political statement supporting a population fighting for their rights, laying off over a thousand people in the space of two years only for the head of this company to get hundreds of millions of dollars in bonus money while their employees are extremely underpaid for the field they work in?

I understand why it’s taking so long to make the game, Activision-Blizzard keeps throwing away the people making money for them. But this is also precisely why I can’t, in good conscience, support this or any other project Blizzard works on. So, see you guys later. It was fun memeing with you.

I hope when ow2 comes out you will come back your missed❤️

Maybe, when they give their employees a fair wage and stop firing them when they report record profit gains.

Match quality was already garbage but ever since the token system was introduced it took a colossal plunge. Games are just extremely RNG based when people fill the tank role or even support to collect tokens.

I would love to play tank but im fed up of Rein & Zarya 24/7.

Strange, I feel like they genuinely haven’t and yet I am still tolerant of the lack of content because I enjoy the game. Surprised someone who believed we were getting legitimate content wants to leave this late into the life cycle…

Oh man, if I limited my entertainment outlets based on CEO compensation, I don’t know what I could do.

Bye :frowning: and Godspeed too! (I meant that positively)

Don’t forget the time when one of their pro players was accused of sexual assault, and they decided to keep his skin in the game.

Not aware of this, did something happen recently?
