So I saw the reveal and decided to look back

After quitting this game for a little bit over 3-4 months (mainly due to toxicity, general lack of enjoyment, the whole Doomfist situation) I came across Baptiste’s reveal on Twitter and remembered I had an account here. To be honest? I immediately thought the character appeared completely boring and generic. His backstory isn’t really anything unique, and “combat medic” isn’t exactly anything new. Sure, we haven’t seen gameplay, but my hopes aren’t high. I decided to come back here to see if anyone else agreed.

Its soldier 75, we’re going down the list.

I agree that his design isnt really special. However for his kit we should wait and see.

I dont know man, i kinda enjoyed the trailer. someone who thought they didnt have a choice but to do the bad thing. and then growing away from that and realizing they always had a choice. it speaks alot to me for some reason.

It’s not even just that tbh. Its his backstory too. Basically its “my home was destroyed, I did bad stuff, now I’m gonna make it right” with bits and pieces of overwatch canon thrown in there. His story actually seems somewhat vague. It feels like they took a basic story outline, said screw it, and made a character around it.

Still a better origin story than Ashe’s.

I agree there are more interesting backstory lines.

not sure how any of that impacts his game play but ok

I mean there’s several characters with completely boring backstories in this game but play unique. If his playstyle is something I haven’t seen before in other games, I’d show some interest, but I have a feeling he’s got some more disappointing to do

I will dare to say he’s design Is Über stupid.

I’m gonna make a prediction here, feel free to screencap this

-He’s going to either be an area control healer or a hit and run healer. He’ll put down health packs for the team that will either allow them to set up somewhere along with a buff ability he’ll probably have, or he’ll put down health packs for the team to use and have offensive capabilities that allow him to flank while healing from a distance. Regardless of which one of these is true, he’ll end up being incredibly broken in either this meta or the next, and will receive nerf after nerf until being made irrelevant while another healer (lets say Lucio here cause I like him) ends up being incredibly strong.

I actually think that he is gonna take health packs (which will show up like an occupied slot, like when Sombra puts down her translocator) and the chosen health pack itself will react as though he used it. Then maybe he can transfer the healing from the health pack unto an ally

No, Bob’s reveal made that better. Unfortunately BOB was the ultimate,

I agree, painfully generic, in design and backstory, thats not a good signal.

Now all we need is the gameplay for a triple threat

He has a grenade launcher with a strange green mist in it, and something that looked like a medic kit. That was my take away from it.

I’m far more interested in abilities and game play. Hopefully we see some soon.

There’s a character in evolve who has healing grenades…
Just like how there’s one with a healing sniper and a tranq dart…

You quit due to toxicity and came back to complain about the new hero?

I liked his story and the young character look within it as Talon, the final model seemed strange (with the colors and scouter) but I’m thinking it’s okay. I’m more interested to see what he does.
