Or is this just another excuse to hate on Brigitte?
Because since the beginning us Junkrat mains have been shlt on by Pharah and Snipers and you don’t see us making hate posts every single day. We just got used to it because, well, what can we do?
I think the issue is more about there should be heavily disadvantaged matchups, but not so disadvantaged that skilled outplay doesn’t matter and the only solution is to switch off.
I.e. Widow pick doesn’t mean automatically switch off Pharah.
Just means things are say 60% in Widows favor, but Pharah can outplay 40% of the time.
I think the difference there is that depending on the map, junkrat can pick locations to hold off that are very difficult for pharahs to pick on him.
Between brig peeling for her other supports close by, and offering armor and health packs at a distance, theres not a ton of room for tracer to play around her.
Yes hard counters are bad for the game. I have argued this many times. If the game really is rock paper scissors everyone would just swap heroes every time they died. The winner would be the team that swapped most recently in overtime.
Except, that is the point of hero-based shooters? Some had strenght over some and weaknesses against others and OW’s selling point is switching heroes on the fly.
If you don’t want to switch, you can always play a standard shooter
There is a lot of complexity and degree when it comes to counters and such in this game. You also have to take in a lot of consideration. For instance, during the peak of dive, people didn’t switch off Winston the moment someone played a Bastion.
Unfortunately, due to this complexity and stuff, it probably isn’t something easily discussed in a constructive way on this forum. This forum is… memey and extreme.
Briggitte the world of hard countering doesn’t stop and start with you… Ya miserable piece of s-
What’s wrong with Walter Bastion?
Mcree, Sym, Bastion VI Lenin, and the other off meta Lebowskis. This affects us all man!
Also grenade nerf is not the proper nomenclature, Blizzard balance, please.
But I digress, hard counters would be ok if it were juggled. The game for the last two years has been why pick this hero when this more buff hero has less counters or need to swap.
Counterplay is fair but to the degree a Bastion, Reaper or Sym get countered for starters mean you just have heroes that will collect dust for lack of use.
Soft counters, you are thinking of soft counters. Having a soft counter present makes a hero change their tactics or outplay their counter to have success. A hard counter makes a hero swap.
An entire teams composition should force swaps, not a single hero.
Nah some popular dude says something and everyone repeats it because they “agree” with him while they ignore a huge list of problems this game has than “mirroroutplayswitchlulnobuenofuntimes” or what ever.
