So, Does No One

Use counters anymore?

I see a lot of post were people talk about OP heroes, i.e. Hazard. However, they don’t talk about what they did about it, i.e switched to a counter, like DVA or Orisa.

even worse, they swap to counter you back and completely embarrass you

Everyone is sick of having to counter all the time. I don’t blame them.

I don’t think Hazard really warrants a counter. Maybe a switch to Brig at most

I am over countering…I was over countering years ago. I play who I want. I have put a lot of time in, and enjoy playing Junkrat. I do well as Junkrat. If I start wrecking your team and you insist on going pharah/widow…that’s fine…I have put in enough time with him that I will still make you have to try like hell to beat me, but you aren’t getting the satisfaction of “making me swap”…like I did you /shrug

Not sure since I’ve never been one to counterswap.

Had a doom player get mad about getting counterswapped when legit only 1 person on my team swapped all game (and to be fair it was to ana so sure I guess, but it’s not like we went brig / Sombra etc). Went against them the next game and they tried every counterswap they could against me and even tried to mirror but still lost again anyway.

Some people crutch counterswapping when they could just get better. Counterswapping is undoubtedly powerful, but;

I think it’s a bit overrated. It’s not fun to play against as a tank player but for some people that’s literally all they know and in some cases that makes it easier to deal with than if they were actually good at their heroes.

I’m 30-6 one tricking mauga this season (don’t chop my legs off please)

There’s a difference from a win and complete and utter triumph. :triumph: Where’s the fun in taking the easy way out?

Counterswapping is lame. Imagine playing a free to play party game and taking it so seriously that you refuse to play your favorite hero.

D.Va definitely is really good against Hazard. But Orisa is better on paper than in practice. I never lost a match against Orisa the entire weekend. IMO Mauga, JunkerQueen, and Reinhardt are all better against Hazard than Orisa.

Turn-based rock paper scissor is not interesting gameplay.

Let’s not forget Mr. Hot Cocoa himself!

Every hero releases overtuned to overpowered. I’m confident that it is intentional for two reasons.

  1. They need data on the hero and how they do in various team comps and against other heroes.
  2. It is a superficial pat on the back to see the numbers jump. No one will come back to play a balanced hero.

Bet.

Imagine saying a Hero is broken, or OP and wanting them nerfed because you want to play your favorite hero and you are getting stomped/wreck and refuse to swap, and want the Devs to compensate you instead.

This is the type of situation the forums complain about as “counterpicking every game” lmao

Big whoop, one person played someone with a favorable matchup! If you can’t overcome that then you’re just not very good

Really wow, I never lost a match again Hazard all weekend. I like Orisa because I can peel, and stop Hazard from melting my backline.

The game is better with Sombra 6 feet under. I did it for the sake of my people and their descendants. Sometimes you need to make horrific decisions for the betterment of humanity and enrichment of nature.

Hazard isn’t even OP though from what I saw to require counter swapping? Guy is way more fair play than most of the existing tank and dps roster without having to counter him.

You ever see someone do a counter swap?
And they continue to just die?
That happens too.
Saw it a few times with Hazard, our tank finally decides to switch to Mauga or Orisa to counter. But that’s as far as they get. It’s like they heard that this counters that. But they still don’t know what they are doing
It be like that sometimes.

To be fair, in QP and you swap to a counter, I kind of expect to be made fun of in match chat. It’s the only reason I’m glad my TV screen is small…
