So does Mercy heal Reaper with RMB now?

Idle thought: With 50% Leeching if Reaper’s in combat would it actually be more efficient to boost his DPS (and thus self-heal) by 30% over a simple 50 HPS?

Probably yes. Nice idea.

~ math post ~
Reapers damage is 7 per pellet, 20 pellets per shot, and he fires 2 shots per second.

7x20x2 = 280 non headshot damage per second if all pellets hit.
a damage boost of 30% brings that to 364.

non damage boosted lifesteal: 140
damage boosted lifesteal: 182
difference: 42
conclusion: Reaper x Mercy is the answer to life the universe and everything.

Not the change to Reaper I was hoping for, but at this point, I’ll f#@%ing take it.

Huh, Reaper might just join Ashe & Pharah on my “Ideal Mercy Pockets/Partners” list.

Answer: No, it wouldn’t, except during his Ult if we just go based on healing

Though you also have to consider that 30% more damage = faster killing = less damage received. I think in that case, it’s situational. It also depends on Reaper being accurate, which is reasonable against tanks but maybe not so against a Tracer, for example

well lets see with self heal reaper can do 140 hps at 280 dps
Damage boost increases this to 364 dps which is 182 hps, while it isn’t greater than 50 hps its close at 42 hps while also giving him a damage boost letting him kill faster, not accounting for headshots of course

Also consider:
If reaper is lifestealing an enemy alone, the enemy will last longer and possibly be healed by their team’s healer, which means Reaper has even more HP to steal from them.

If reaper is being dmg boosted then the enemy will die 50% faster and thus have way less lifestealing potential for reaper

Damage boosting a Reaper who is attacking someone at close range was always the better option ever since he got lifesteal except when he was very low on health.

No its more like 24% if its mercy damage boost, an ana boost will be around 33% faster

If efficiency is what you want then I present to you the non-lazy option:

Heal Reaper with LMB and then Damage Boost him only when he fires. It’s not easy to match his rhythm, but Reaper’s cadence is slow enough that it can be done without feeling like you’re trying to go pro for such a minor improvement.

Imagine the possibilities with nade and nanoboost on Reaper.

Hilariously, if the reaper can hit his shots, YES.

Isn’t that considered high level pharmercy tech? Where a mercy LMBs Pharah and only RMBs right when her rockets hit something?

Yeah, it is. And lowkey, it does seem pretty ideal. It would give reaper the (roughly) 42 healing per second, as well as the 50 from LMB. Though I suppose it would really only be useful when a reaper is going up against multiple people at once.
