So does Double Match XP even mean anything?

Just thought about this recently and it says “match xp”. Which seems to exclude daily, weekly, etc challenges and so on. This means they are doubling what, the 100 xp you earn for a game? Maybe 500 if it counts the bonus for doing All roles?

The whole double Xp at the end of a BP in general is pretty stupid but this is more worthless than I thought if thats how it works.

Yeah you have to play ridiculous amount of games to get some titles. Back in OW1 you would have gotten at least 40 skins by then.

The biggest joke to me was you probably play some 100+ games over the course of the BP. I think it last 90 days? The free BP gave something like 2 skins. While the Mercy one at level 70ish wasn’t bad it’s still pretty awful.

The number of rewards you get per game is horrible in OW2. And personally I can not justify $20 on a skin from the shop.

Just funny if you compare this Double XP event to old ones. You got a loot box about every 3 fights under Double rewards, each box giving you 3 items.

Match xp is so small, double or triple match xp isn’t worth it.

Just play if you wanna play, don’t play for these bonuses.

Generally you get around 1000xp in a QP match that lasts 8-10 mins, more if it’s consecutive match. So it’s doubling that. Instead of 1k per match you get 2k per match. Which is substantial, instead of needing to play 10 matches to complete a tier, you only need to play 5.

Nope. Like non violent protest, it’s pointless.

Match XP is the base amount you get before various bonuses. In a normal length match it’s usually around 800-1000 as mentioned above. I certainly wouldn’t call it negligible, but it’s also not going to get you 50 bonus levels in one weekend or anything.

It’s better than nothing.

This complaint is kind of the same when people are sick of duplicates even duplicates grant coins instead of nothing granted. Now lootbox is gone and people want it back.

OW1 Double xp > OW2 double xp, it’s not even close lmao.

Double XP is actually still really powerful. You need 10k EXP to get one level. Doing one win can net you all three dailies right away on top of like ~1000 exp for winning. Like 500 for a loss I think.

With double XP all the extra matches you play add up over time. If I play 10 games across 2 hours and got my dailies, I’ll have gotten like at least an additional level and a half for that session which is like another level I didn’t have.

It probably doesn’t.

Yes, it means you get 600 instead of 300 every game. Doesn’t mean anything.

Let’s say you play about 5 matches a day and finish 10 weekly quests and 21 daily quests. You would get 50k from weekly, 63k from daily, and 35k from match XP (assuming 1k XP from matches).

This would mean doubling your match XP would give you a boost of about 23%. Obviously this will vary from player to player, but most people can expect a comparable increase.
