I mean take it with a grain of salt-
But nearly any interview I’ve seen with pros in the current owl still place much of the blame on Briggs.
If anyone has sources to contrary by all means I’d love to see it.

I’m not sure what these two things have to do with one another. Like, if people weren’t harrassing the VA would it suddenly be OK to blame brig for GOATS?

Some people just wont get it. Brig could not be run in GOATS at all and people still wont get it.
Apparently to some, switching out everyone else makes it goats but switching out Brigitte automatically means it isnt goats anymore.

I mean, you hit the nail on the head whether you realized it or not. They unintentionally nerfed her so she’d be useless outside of 3-3, not so she’d be worse in 3-3. That’s why she’ still being blamed. She’s still amazing in 3-3.
People literally just want Brig to be unplayable at this point. People have realized she’s not the main problem with GOATS but she’s forever just a scapegoat now and it sucks.

The problem is that despite her being weak in 2-2-2, they still lose to Brig in that context and hate her for it. Reaper has the same exact issue. It is not even just Brig. If you get into melee range and out heal their damage because they have trouble aiming… the character is subject to hatred. So that is why so many low ranked players are experts on GOATs randomly. Because they have that vested interest to keep nerfing Brig until they can handle her. But that is just a theory.

GOATS was no where near as prevalent before brig
Triple support is why goats is so good , not because of rein zarya , Winston even replaces rein on maps where high ground control is necessary (numbani)

Or maybe the game needs to be less decided by who has tank ultimates versus who gets off counter support ultimates? The rest of the game besides who clicks these Q’s better matters little in the vast majority of high ranked / OWL matches.

Goats is not quad tank , its triple support + what ever combination , sombra is even added
Brig was put in the game to stop dive which was played 99â„… of the time in OWL and was the dominant comp masters + .
She enabled GOATS full stop
No brig = No goats

Her skill kit is bloated beyond belief. She has it all, tank abilities, sustained aoe heals, burst single target heals, two different types of CC, and more HP than the average hero. I have thought she was balanced for a bit, but her design is still not healthy for the game. Being designed with “anti-dive” in mind was just too much to put into one hero.

I think what GreyFalcon was saying, was that it’s like the quad-tank comp that was rolled out briefly in Stage 1 OWL, but without the weakness that composition had.
And she does not enable GOATs any more than Zarya and Lucio do.

It’s flat NOT goats if it’s 3 supports 1 tank and 2 dps. and its the same with sombra. sombra existing means… it aint goats.
Meanwhile, goats is ran without Brig suddenly… maybe… it’s not a brig issue

The difference between quad tank and goats is Brig. Quad tank is strong, but manageable with clear, counterable weaknesses. It’d be nice if goats was the same.

it’s not. quad tank doesn’t work with lucio Brig or brig zen etc.
meanwhile brig is being swapped out and it’s still goats… almost like… it’s not an issue with her
