when are you going to deliver on it? you’ve been very quite since OW2 released
they simply dont care the game started goign downhil even worse with what they done with season 5 heck i think most people dont want me playing with them because i dont play a op meta hero liek stupid 76 or stupid cree
They did openly say Overwatch 2 is a flop. Maybe that is all we get for a few years.
They said this whole having knowingly cancelled PvE and not telling the playerbase for the better part of a year.
Uh, they keep doing blog posts and streamer interviews? Pretty frequently actually. really stepped up the last couple months.
So you’re just not paying attention.
You say that, but that’s not really communication. Those are interviews done on streams that can be hours long. That’s no way to communicate with your playerbase, not primarily at least. The fact is that’s how they get away with giving out the bad news that they’re breaking promises. As I recall they announced that they were gutting PvE over an hour into a several hour long stream. They announced that they were shutting OW1 down when OW2 launched in a reddit AMA and only because someone asked directly what would happen to OW1, and that was only months before it shut down. If someone hadn’t asked that question they may not have “announced” it until weeks before OW1 shut down for good.
Having those interviews and streams is all well and good, but the fact is they use them as an excuse to announce bad news to try to soften the blow. They hide behind sneaking in bad news in hours long interviews so they don’t have to directly address the community about their lies.
Well, they’re not gonna talk to a chat room or the forums because of how hostile and toxic ya’ll are.
Theres literally a post today demanding the devs be fired and the poster couldnt say one specific reason why. How do you engage with a playerbase like that?
you only have yourselves to blame.
I loled so hard I almost fell from my chair
good one
They could actually communicate in their blog posts. The fact is they shy away from actually announcing their worst news. They didn’t announce that PvE was cancelled or that OW1 was shutting down. They snuck it into much larger discussions and hoped nobody noticed.
Also there’s a little thing called moderation they could use.
See, look at the way you’re framing it all. its accusatory, its aggressive. So, what? you want them to fall on their sword? beg you for forgiveness?
The way you guys act, and this is a prime example, is unreasonable and deeply entitled. So, yeah thats why they dont talk to us more directly. I mean why would they? they’re game devs, not punching bags for your frustrations. They owe you nothing.
you probably yell at store clerks and retail workers…
See, look at the way you’re framing it all. its accusatory, its aggressive.
Give me one thing Blizzard has done in the last 3 years that warrants giving them the benefit of the doubt.
So, what? you want them to fall on their sword? beg you for forgiveness?
At this point? Yeah pretty much. They’ve done nothing but lie and break promises. We’re long past time for some accountability
You know the current dev team are not the ones responsible for PvE not happening right? There is a reason they’re called Team 4…
Also the devs arent allowed to just go rogue and tell you things, they have bosses ya know lol.
See, its just weird misguided rage and frustration. So why would they wanna talk to you? i dont even wanna talk to you lol.
Don’t try to pull a switch up like that. You know full well I was both exaggerating and talking about the actual decision makers.
I just want them to centralize their info.
No more finding bits and pieces from their various Twitter accounts.
Exactly my point. They don’t have to go out and talk to us directly, but if they could at least be open and direct instead of hiding their bad news in the middle of a 4 hour long interview and pretending it’s no big deal
They were actually very vocal recently???
Everyone’s company is “very vocal” when doing “press releases” for their new “product”(S6).
They could honestly be much more involved in their community and do a lot better job of disseminating information.
We don’t even know if they’re working on a lot of well known bugs.
It shouldn’t be too hard to pin one bug thread for all the people who can’t unlock heroes right now and add it to known issues. Just one of the many common bugs that are unlisted in known issues.
It shouldn’t be so hard to say “Hey, we know you don’t like snipers. Here’s our official take. Sorry if it bothers you, but right now we think…”
“Hey. Our teams handled the PvE announcement very poorly. We’re so sorry and we understand what it meant to the community. Here’s why we dropped it:… We’re still working on classic style PvE events and will be doing our best to make it up to you.”
What Waffle said is totally true, but it’s essentially just two groups throwing a fit. Someone has to take the first step, and it honestly is on the company to do so if they want to keep their playerbase around.
They do blog updates and streams on twitch pretty regularily nowawadays compared to past. It’s increased a lot.
Some people are just never happy.
I think they’ve been more vocal than the late half of overwatch 1. But usually in the little news articles like the dev blogs or explaining things.
Theyve done live streams too.
The only thing that’s missing would be Jeff doing a dev update video, which they don’t do because that was more of a Jeff thing.
how come we get info from the director of the game on each update on Playoverwatch official youtube channel to executive producer stealth their way out unannounced having interview from random famous streamer
