All we people that are only interested in the game need to know just how to get this sweet skin to our main, What are all the requirements to receive the tokens in the live steam:
I heard sound needs to be on?
Do I have to leave my window on the twitch?
Every stream can give me points?
Is it random or do I get tokens overtime?
Answers please? :x
Honestly, I just mute the stream and let it play in the background.
You’ll still get tokens as long as you have your accounts linked.
- Sound doesn’t have to be on.
- Only live streams give points.
- You earn 3 points for every hour watched.
- You have a random chance of getting 100 points. There is no limit to how many times you can win this.
- You can get more points by voting on the outcome of matches before a game starts on: Home | The Overwatch League
- I would recommend keeping the game up at all times, and do not minimize Twitch. It doesn’t need to be the “active Window”, as in you can play Overwatch on your main monitor and have the stream running on your other (or on your phone).
I tried already but for some reason it doesn’t give me tokens
They changed it to be per time watched, not per game anymore. I think it’s like 15 or 30 points per hour now?
Try and link them again, I had the same problem at first, and I just relinked my bnet with my twitch account.
Thank you very much but I literally was in the stream and I got nothing do I have to be on the window?
I think I was even then.
and yes my accounts are linked
Thanks. I updated it. Looks like it’s 3 points per hour: Overwatch Esports
Does it matter if the twitch I am watching from is the application or the explorer?
which one are you using to get the points?
What platform are you watching Twitch on? I’ve had issues where it didn’t track my games properly when I used to watch on my Roku. Make sure your account is linked. I’d only watch on my phone or computer.
by phone you mean on the google or twitch application though/
I watch it from the official overwatch league site, but I don’t think it should matter.
God this is so silly but I get it.
Would not be surprised if half their “audience” was not actually watching
Or Overwatch League application. You can also just watch it on the OWL website.
If you don’t plan on watching it’s recommended you keep the sound on but very low. This is because browsers like Chrome will put the tab to sleep if it’s not being viewed and pause the stream to save resources.
You can get 3 tokens per hour of watch time. This only applies to days where games are being played. (So streams without matches being played don’t count)
You can randomly receive a 100 token jackpot at random. I’ve gotten several since the start of the season.
They also just introduced a voting game on the main Overwatch League website. Log into the homepage an hour before a game starts and you’ll see things to vote for next to the live stream. (However this is in beta and hasn’t been active for the last two days and it’s also random if you actually get your tokens or not.)
You’re watching at the tail end of the season so there’s only so many tokens you can get, but you could still get a hundred or two. More if you’re lucky.
Make sure you link your blizzard account to twitch for these to work. Also link your console if you play on one.
You can also watch on pretty much anything. The mobile app, the OWL website, the twitch app on pc, the twitch website, should all work.
After some quick math, you should be able to get about 336 tokens if you watch the rest of stage 4. Not counting random 100 token jackpots.
(Each match is about 2 hours, so 4 matches is 8 hours, 8x3 = 24 tokens per day. 24x4 = 96 tokens per week. 96 x 3 = 288 tokens for the rest of the stage and another 48 tokens for the shorter homestand.)
This is kind of rude hearing it out loud ya know, some people don’t really feel like watching I particularly despise watching people do things and I prefer doing it on my own instead of being inspired I like to make my own mistakes and learn from them so I will feel good developing on my own.
You’re not wrong.
I only pay attention to the two teams I like.
I think it’d probably be fun to see it live but that’s a lot of money for a flight and hotel room.
