Sure, technically she is impactful. But dear lord on a cracker, she feels awful to play. She has no survivability, she needs a healer to babysit her, and I swear to god she draws enemies like magnets or mosquitoes and dies so easily because no one is afraid of her (and not because she is so adorable, but because she herself is no threat.)
I feel like she would be in a much better place instead of feeling like the enemy punching bag if Orisa was a fast tank with no movement penalties. She’s so big and she’s so slow currently in game, that she’s practically a stationary target every hero can dance circles around. Without her shield to protect her, Orisa is up a creek without a paddle and Fortify only delays the inevitable.
I play a good amount of Orisa ,(I even bought her golden gun) and I feel like she’s fine. Maybe increase her firing rate a little or adjust her ultimate, but people already call her op and annoying to play against even though her pick rate has been dropping a lot recently.
I think she needs something, i would like to see how she plays with Rein’s health, 300-health, 200-armor, vs her current 200/200. Why does D.VA’s mech have 400h/200A but the other machine designed to defend get less?
Her gun does so little damage causing most to see her as no threat when attacking. Hell when i play her i ignore the fact Genji is deflecting sometimes because i know it does little damage if i hit fortify.
I know they are getting rid of scatter but even Jeff pointed out that is is no fun to play Orisa and get 1 shot by a scatter arrow. She is a very large target, and in lore a robot made to defend people and counter Doomfist, but she feels like she needs help being defended and is not a good counter to Doomfist.
We see her in pro games but not often. It seem they are nerfing Zen due to Pro’s (JJonak) being able to counter snipe widows, why not buff under used heroes?
Her survivability is excellent. You will outlast your team almost every team fight.
It’s all about positioning, of both yourself and your shield. Shield dancing is a skill you will need to learn when fighting on point. Master it and you will become nearly unkillable.
First: treat her shield like a winston bubble, dance around it to mitigate damage. bait people into coming at you then jump to the other side of the shield. Don’t forget to make use of halt to keep them on the other side of the shield.
Second: supercharger should be treated like a clean up ult. Positioning is everything on this ult. BEFORE dropping it position yourself away from front line, preferably high ground but somewhere that your entire team is visible from. Once a fight breaks out, trigger it THEN(cant stress this part enough) drop your shield in front of it. It will provide maximum output on dmg boost.
Sidenote: leading shots is essential for playing Orisa.
I am almost always the last one to die in a team fight as Orisa, and no I’m not hiding at the back, you will find me on or near the payload or in the action.
It just feels… So bad for a tank ult. It’s not fun to use and I sort of wish it was like a teamwide mini Fortify or something actually tank-like.
I play a lot of Orisa, but for its cost it doesn’t feel worth
It’s because Orisa is only strong if people respect her shield. But once people stop respecting the shield she’s pretty much a push over. It’s why I think they should buff the shield so enemies can’t pass through it.
I disagree. The low cooldown is very formidable and allows for easy repositions during duels. I really think Orisa’s in a good spot in a meta that doesn’t necessarily favor her. I just wish Supercharger wasn’t a “place it and forget it and hope Tracer doesn’t focus it” ult.
I’d like this. A modest slow. Though I’m not sure she necessarily needs it.
Isn’t she really defensive though? Like, she has a 900 HP shield, and she can fortify to be an 800 HP tank for 4 seconds when necessary. The key with her is using the barrier to block damage that would otherwise hit you, and using the fortify at the right time to ensure that you can match durability with the heavier tanks.
Also keep in mind your shield is launch-able. If you are not on the front line, THROW A SHIELD TO THE FRONT LINE. Understand her cooldown isn’t the way it is just for shield spam, it is an incredible live saving ability if you can aim it.
I think it feels pretty good. 50% is a huge boost. Very noticeable and the sound effects are cool.
I think they could buff her ult charge rate a tiny bit but for the most part I think Orisa in general is fine. Any buffs will probably make her op. Maybe not immediately but once people actually start to learn her she will be.
