So about Illari

How would people on here feel about increasing her healing meter and upping the range and hps on her secondary so she can more reliably keep people up on her own? And then further nerf the turret to prevent the healing from being overwhelming, but maybe buff the health on it?

I’ve been playing her a fair bit recently, and it’s kinda irritating to me. I feel like I’m not really keeping people up, even when I focus on using my secondary. It doesn’t last long enough to sustain anyone, so I’m practically a third DPS with little to no healing value. On the other hand, playing against her I don’t like how the turret is so easy to set and forget because people have to go into your team to get it. It’s not even like Sym/Torb where you need to be really strategic about where you place it. Just set it in the middle of your team where the enemy has to push up to get los on it. I like the idea of a healing turret, but the way it was implemented just doesn’t feel good to play against. It also doesn’t feel good to play with when against a Tracer or Sombra, because it outright won’t live for longer than 30 seconds before one of them breaks it. I also like the idea of another Support/DPS hybrid, but the Support part feels practically non-existent at times. I see no reason to not just play Bap or Ana for that type of playstyle, as they have more range, healing, and utility. The only reason I’m playing Illari over them is because it’s easier to shoot down flyers, but even then Bap and Ana can still do that.

yeah, i’d be okay with that. lower tower healing for increased secondary fire healing is fair

Healing beam should have infinite range and sharp falloff, say 120hps within 15 meters down to 20 hps at maybe 30 to 45 meters.

That way you can keep your Cass permanently at 7 hp from across the map while he’s dueling the Kiriko who can only land body shots.

Her beam lasts about 1 second. So, sure. He gets healed for 20 hp once in 1 second while Ellary needs to recharge her beam.

I like it, but the fury from dps mains would be intense. This is the dps player’s dream hero in another role.

Eh, I’m kinda torn on that.
The turret is… Definitely annoying if the Illari has a good corner or some cover to toss it behind, and moving power into kit away from turret will definitely impact both her super fast ult generation and raise her skill floor since you need to actively upkeep the meter more.

But then we really just have Moira 2 hitscan boogaloo.
I mean, same trend of rebalancing (making uptime easier to maintain at the cost of throughput), same DPSes while Healing, same minimal to non-existent utility, an ult with raw self managed Offense uses ect.

I wouldn’t disagree with a potential range increase, she’s kinda miserable if your team wants to wander and an increase to her beam’s length would definitely help her feel better, though a decrease to her lil jump’s CD could help that too.
I just do not know. I know her ult is ridiculously quick to get online and that’s about it for my feelings on Illari.

Honestly, I think she’s fine the way she is. She has some really sharp edges, but there’s strong counterplay if you just shoot the turret. It’s kinda good that her healing is very limited otherwise. If she had a 120hp beam for a longer period and her turret only did like 20hp she’d probably be a lot stronger actually which wouldn’t be good.

Healing beam grapple beam. Latches onto walls and she can swing herself around an anchor point.

Already built this for Symmetra in one of my custom games.

Seems like you t be a pretty nice change.

While i like the idea of pulling value away from turret to the player i think illari is fine at the moment after the ult change and heal reduction. I like that if i need to heal i have to decide turret relocate that might be more exposed. Or my beam which i have to manage while exposing myself potentially. Its a fun juggle of dps, support and cooldown management.

I’d be okay with that. I would prefer to heal bot a bit more with her, but im also not against her prioritization of DPSing and EMERGENCY HEALING playstyle

I like how she is built, as a trauma healer, where her sustained healing is tied to her pylon, but she undoes big bursts with her secondary unsustainably.

bro dont bother the game is technically dead at this point. We’ll not see past a 2 digit season.

But doing that would require thinking while playing her. And like, making decisions, and not just throw a turret down and afk pew pew.

Why would you want to make a hero more engaging, interesting and rewarding when you can just press a button that does all that for you?

yes because that is what we need right now more healing that will make everything better

Tried to get good at Hanzo/Junkrat because there’s so much heal sustain in this meta. Things just don’t seem to die for me unless I insta-kill. Shifting Illari to a more of a burst healer sounds painful.
