I love him and I’m really looking foward for him to be released but…I’ve seen a couple of montages of him spinning around objetives in 2CP and Payload maps and I don’t like the idea of him being able to contest while doing that. Looks a bit “exploitish” if you know what I mean.
Well it may be, but I honestly don’t see it as being too problematic. His momentum is halted by any CC, and he doesn’t deal enough damage for that tactic to actually be effective. If anything he’d just be putting his team at a disadvantage.
I know that the damage isnt that high. However imagine if Genji could dash around an objective dealing 50 dmg indefinetly like Hammond. The community would lose it.
I know it may not be a big deal but I think its a bit unfair to let ir happen even if the consequences of it happening arent that great. Am I making any sense?
He would find much more value going up in the air, Piledriveing down to knock the enemies up, and then shooting. The only thing the enemy team would have to do to stop Hammond contesting is CC him. Roadhog is actually really good against him, so just hook and destroy.
well to that id say that genji’s dash is less predictable and easier to control, whereas hammond swings around an easily recognizable pattern and can be intercepted by cc a lot more efficiently, or just gunned down from a distance
if it were genji, tracking him with an infinite dash would be much more difficult, you know?
You do have a point but even if Genji had to follow thw same pattern to be able to do that the community would still lose it just bc its Genji.
Also, what if we let him spin like that but not contest while he is doing it. Meaning that he can use it to deny entrance to a controled objective but not to cap it.
It’s really only a problem on a few maps (Lijiang Control Center and Garden come to mind here), since other maps terrain doesn’t make it nearly as easy to do, nor as effective.
But it’d be pretty easy to fix by simply making it so Grapple automatically breaks after 5 seconds or so.
Personally I don’t see it as a major issue. It’ll be great against uncoordinated teams, but his movement is incredibly predictable (unlike Genji dashes) and since he’s just going fast and not blinking or dashing, it’s easy to burn him.
honestly genji could collapse into a coma mid-dash and people would whine that they had to step around him
Also, what if we let him spin like that but not contest while he is doing it. Meaning that he can use it to deny entrance to a controled objective but not to cap it.
my only problem with this is that if hammond is swinging around in the middle of a teamfight, the only way he’s going to cap the point is if the enemy team isn’t there to occupy it, because he really can’t do more than stall
and that’s kind of why taking it away would hurt him, it’d remove a lot of stall potential
This sounds good on paper but as a high skill movement ability it would suck for it to be broken. You would have to make it so breaking the hook is just as challenging. Know what I mean?
HAHAHAHA Funniest thing Ive seen in the forums in a long time. So true
But he can have up to 1300 hp tho. By the time he is the only one left some enemies are probably dead meaning a 1v6 situation is unlikely. He could use his movement “intermitently” (Idk if this is a word) in order to stall but not be extremely annoying about it. Maybe give him 10 seconds to be attached. If he takes 10 seconds to swing he doesnt know what he is doing probably
I was about to chime in but others have already paid my two cents. He’s extremely susceptible to crowd control, and he’s moving in a very predictable pattern with a huge hitbox. It’s only working right now because people aren’t used to it; a few weeks from now, it’ll be shut down fairly easily.
Hahaha this would SUCK. I am a Genji player and I dont want this to happen either. I know Hammond wilk probably counter me but I respect him big time as a character. Brig is another story.
