People were asking for more normal looking male characters since they almost all have something up with them from Junkrat to Torbjorn to McCree.
(Ok this wasn’t on purpose but I just realized they’re all missing an arm and I lol’d ).
So yeah, Baptiste looks normal, and considering the rest of the male characters that actually makes him pretty unique.
Armor kinda like Mccree’s and boots so cool the devs had to turn them into moon shoes. Scouter for the weebs, the word scavenger somewhere in the backstory for the Junker fans. Team Talon because there definitely aren’t enough of those (legit).
Shoulda had a pompadour instead of whatever he thinks he’s got going on tho.
Too much Dad, not enough Elvis. Coming with Junker AND Talon skins tho? That’s absolutely nuts, like bruhs and she-bruhs, how are you complaining?
Thats cool if people wanted more ‘‘normal looking heroes’’ but idk for me so far his visual design is kinda boring, toy soldier type, his personality is meh as well, like they couldnt really decide what they wanted him to be, resulting in a very flavourless character, for me at least.
I feel like it doesnt say much when the most memorable and amusing thing about him (to me) is that hes the only healer with ‘‘youre fully healed’’ voice line when topping off an ally.
Even his sprays and voice lines seem to be more in general memes and references to random stuff than actually convey much of his personality.
I mean, its not a big deal to me but it is kinda wonky that the girl heroes mostly look like Kpop idols while the guys look like they’re from a circus. Its kinda weird way to display diversity.
Says they guy whose most play heroes are the psycho missing two limbs, the truck sized masked mutant, and the robot monk.
Baptiste is a gadget hero, how can you not love that? I love that his footsteps sound so heavy because he’s wearing his Exo Boots, and he doesn’t have super jump because of some sort of experiment gone wrong. Not every hero needs to be a hamster.
If I have to say something negative, I think they could have gone more overboard with the gadget look. You know, a bit more junkyard-ish. But that’s nitpicking.
i like his classic colours, blue+orange is one of my fav colour combos. bright and gives him a friendly vibe, something the other male heroes (aside from zen and lucio) don’t have
his common skin variation with maroon+deep blue tho that russles my jimmies
