Why do some of you play like you’re a completely different hero? Sometimes, i see Widow or Ashe playing like they’re Reaper or Ana playing like they’re Brigitte in terms of positioning. Why not just play those characters instead of awkwardly trying to snipe up close? It’s infuriating to see my Ashe playing like she can wraith out or my Ana playing like she has a shield and whip. Just play farther back! That’s the entire reason for those characters existing!
I blame FFA for my unorthodox playstyle. I don’t like sitting still.
Sometimes you have to get in there, Ana especially. The best Widows get where they can do the most damage, not where they’re safest. Move up with them.
Low quality players exist. They sell them at your local Dollar Tree. Frontline Widow pack of 5 for just $3, a huge value.
Back-shooting Widow (flanking for snipes) is heavily underrated and almost never predicted.
My teammates aren’t playing their heroes right so why do I have to do it?
Its more fun like this.
I ask them and those who reply says they are from CSGO
As a CS player I can verify this
I blame Sombra for making players play closer to their group.
dont have a clue but MAYBE if you look at the enemy team portraits and see a purple haired hispanic woman then yea… probably that reason
i know since i usually am that hero and widow and ashe on an island are fun targets as the purple haired lady
actually…
nowadays the way dive is, those two heroes (ashe/widow) have a lot too worry about. sombra of course, venture, genji (who is very strong now/BIG BULLETS), doomfist, reaper(even him), d.va, winston, lucio, dps moira…
they have it rough so being close to the group can save them… probably better to switch tho lol
I don’t play Ana far back at all.
The reason why she’s different for me than Widow or Ashe comes down to the fact I’m not really at a disadvantage hipfiring.
Ashe: Not optimal to primarily hipfire. Lower damage and more reloading as a result.
Widow: Hipfire is a close range tool that doesn’t have enough power to make it a viable playstyle when considering the low health pool.
Ana: No difference in output between scoped and hipfire. Ease of maintaining LoS on teammates. Ease of applying sleeps and antinades.
Personally, I even find it easier to land headshots on enemies with the headshot perk while staying in Cass range. Also less worry about being dove by flankers.
While I agree, an Ana shouldn’t be frontlining, I don’t ascribe to the idea that Ana should be forced to play at sniper range, and would even say it’s not always optimal.
There’s plenty of room for more than one playstyle.
Some players just like playing front-line, right up in the action!
It’s less boring than sitting in the backline perfectly safe and sound. It’s also not really that awkward if your flicks and reads are good enough.
Ana can be very strong in the front line. Just because she has a sniper doesn’t mean she MUST be backline. Especially as Ana doesn’t have any movement skill. So sticking to team can be very good.
Not a sniper player anymore, but back when I did, I liked being unpredictable with my angles. Flank Widow is both hilarious and surprisingly effective. Bonus points if you sneak behind their entire team and spawncamp their supports.
Playing ana from far back can work in some situations and in others you want to be closer, so you can follow up fast with your team / get more aggressive angle to enemies yourself.
In th end, you should have dynamic positioning with pretty much any hero & adapt to the situations fast.
I hop like a bunny and stay close behind our team when using Ana because I hate being ambushed first. Pretty fun. When the tank dies, I die.
If you’re under 20 meters from your target, it is preferred to hip-fire, or at least, utilize Ashe’s double-tap of scoped-to-unscoped shots (or vice versa)
Fun fact, Widow’s primary fire, or hipfire did more damage than Soldier’s did back in the day.
Generally easier to hit target under scope.
Ana really doesn’t have the sort of mobility to engage at extreme sniper ranges, but like many Supports can still hang in the third row backline at 30 to 35 meters.
Depends if I’m locked in
I either play aggressive with quick flicks deleted close to mid range hero’s
Or if I’m tired from work and don’t want to do risky plays I stay back a bit and punish mistakes
