Because their main account is actually HS Plat and they trying to see if they can get higher, then then they get to diamond and think they did good, but once they completed 50-100 games they’re just back in plat again

not intentionally smurfing but im trying to learn new characters. cant perform on anything other than tracer and souj(and sometimes occasionally genji) in my main rank so i don’t want to troll other people’s games by practicing hs.

Not really, no. I had a relatively rough childhood, but bullying was never a problem. I think some kids tried it, but once they realized I wanted that smoke, they backed the hell off. The smart ones anyway. I thrashed the dumb ones. Does it count as bullying if you uno-reverse them and they become afraid and avoid you? No idea how this works…

Anyways, I just do it because I am worried about getting false reported for using certain characters on my main. If there was no report system, I would never use my alt account ever again.

Unfortunately you cannot help me with that. I am glad that you are making an effort to reach out, however. That’s very nice of you!

Even tho smurfs are both problematic and hilariously pathetic, i’d say streamers milking for the 1000th time the “unranked to x challenge (educational)” are the worst of them.
Darling, you’re stuck on your main and thirsty for easy content that you can’t provide up there, no need to pretend you’re gonna teach people when in reality you just lack the skill to be entertaining and need to roll on low elos to compensate.

It cracks me up when I see a Smurf. I just assume they’re probably high gold and sad

Consoles have it a hell of a lot worse cause it’s usually a Smurf using xim aim assist

It’s gone so worse that they are even in QP. And that accusation gets thrown around so mindlessly that any hitscan main was accused at least once. It’s a rite of passage.

There could be many reasons.

Heroes that were good that they enjoyed playing have become trash since S9… Poor matchmaking experience, playing with friends that they wouldn’t be able to otherwise, learning new heroes, testing new play-styles…

im not a smurf but i was bullied and abused ive lost more than one account as the abuse and bullying made me mentally unstable and im also a social outcast pretty much as i cant drive

Accident if I ever end up in a low rank A its an old account B im ranking up a new one that I would like to practice on and will be out of your rank in proooobbbablly like an hr? A day at most.

It’s not like Im unbeatable it’s just you guys absolutely suck at the basic levels of team work whenever the game thinks Im silver for whatever reason.

If yall spent more time grouping up and less time typing in the damn chat and blaming X teammates virtually every smurf that enters your ranks would be hard stuck gold.

But again I don’t smurf because I want to I smurf because Blizzard or old account I get my crap done and leave your ranks as fast as possible cause I don’t like ruining other peoples games but at the same time I would also like to improve without completely destroying my main account.

As long as Blizzards system works as it’s SUPPOSED TO you shouldn’t even see me tbh.

only time that i saw smurfing as somewhat acceptable was if you wanted to play comp with your friend but couldnt because wide queue didnt exist back then

though even that is debatable as boosting

i dont really know of any other “ethical” reason why someone would smurf, especially with private profiles and streamer mode. just farming poor low ranks for content or “fun”

Various reasons. Helping people, playing with friends, trying new heros, content creation, etc.

Also, it’s kinda like this games version of NG+. Returning to the starting area with all of your game knowledge.

You gain a different perspective on things.
