Smurfs in Overwatch

Smurfs make overwatch competitive just cancer.
Today on my Platinum DPS main account, i played ~20 games today.

I literally counted the amount of smurfs that were in these games.

How i defined a smurf:

  1. Has +65% on the top 3 heroes they play
  2. Rolls the enemy team

So today ive seen about 67 smurfs that follow that definition (both my team and the enemy team.)

20 games is 240 players (12x20=240)
So about 28% of the players i played with over the last 20 games have been smurfs that play extremely well.

I dont like to be carried by a smurf, and i dont like to be rolled by a smurf.

Imagine having to play a game where the outcome depends on which teams has more/better smurfs on it.

Smurfs ruin this game, more than hackers, throwers, and toxic players.

So youre mid masters and playing in plat and the other smurfs are the issue not you? Or as a mercy 1 trick youre mid masters, but on dps you actually belong in plat?

I am a platinum dps player, on an account that i am not playing on with the intent to absolutely roll the enemy.

The only advantage id have over others is minor gamesense things, not things that completely ruin the experience of other players.

Maybe some of those players actually are plat, and just having a good season with the new meta, maybe it favours them? Maybe some of them didnt do as well in their placements and got placed lower than t hey belong, and are now* climbing through the ranks? I cant imagine you coming across that many people who threw games to be low, and are just rolling people. Some people do that, but what you said seems like a very high number, unless you kept getting into the games with the same people over and over.

I’ve never seen a good smurf in Gold when I play with my lower ranked friends, so just add people with 2300 or less SR. I played a game at 3 am this morning that felt like target practice. They have absolutely no game sense.

While I do think there are smurfs out there, they have become the boogeyman. Every time someone gets killed or loses a game they blame smurfs. Sometimes you just get outplayed.

I seriously doubt they were just normal players. You can tell by the way they play, that its different from a platinum player.

Like their movement, target decisions, positioning. it would always be like abnormal for a platinum player. I could be wrong, and maybe some of them were just having a good game. And the fact that some had a 35% critrate on widow ._.

I call BS. thats unheard of for pros. get outta here with these exaggerations

I dont think you understand what a smurf is, If a pro was playing in a platinum game he would have a crazy high crit rate as well.

Normally players have between 18 and 23% critrate in their own ranks, in lower ranks higher because movement is easier to land hits on.
