Smurfs can really wreck games now

Before this patch I never really thought much about DPS Smurfs in OW2. I guess because they were less impactful due to all the healing it wasn’t as fun and harder to do but now they can destroy games. And that is A LOT of fun for the Smurf. That is motivation to set up a new account and throw and have all the fun that was common at the tail end of Overwatch 1 when the metal ranks were full of them.

Also I think not being able to save teammates as easily does ruin the support experience somewhat, Don’t get me wrong I like the new buffed Lucio but if the enemy DPS or tank is marginally better and supports are equal the match is over. You need one support to be insane at doing damage to save the match.

So overall I don’t know about this patch. I find it more frustrating in some ways. But at the same time if this is what people want then I can accept it. I need to take a break tho.

The game is insanely frustrating and at the base of things just is not fun

The only people who play comp anymore are: Smurfs, Xims, and hackers. Unless your in masters+ rank you’ll go against 1 of those 3 every game. Been like that since 2019

It is a tough one. I suppose I judge balance by how frustrated I get. I play support in part because I find it less frustrating or tilting than the other roles. I like doing damage and healing and most importantly playing as a team. Unfortunately the new patch makes the game way more DPS orientated so as a support you start tilting and getting frustrated like they do. I hate the fact that enemy DPS if they are better simply get to dominate. Even swapping heroes feels pointless.

People forget that asking for stronger DPS will ruin as many games as it improves. That said, I think the patch was worth trying out even if a lot of it gets reverted.

years and YEARS ago, back in the days of quake 3 and Unreal Tournament, i read an article on the net, they did an interview with an ex game hacker…in that article he said that in any given game lobby, there was a 70% chance that there was someone using hacks.

wonder if that still holds up today?

Right now with these major changes there may be artificial smurfs as the changes are so drastic people might just be better now that they have more impact and the changes match play style.
