hate to say but smurfs a pretty common when you can just buy accounts for dirt cheap prices, hence incentivising throwing accounts which ruin more games. They should just boost players on big win streaks till they get their ranks that they were originally in
I’m unsure if it’s the competative system that perhaps puts players temporarely much higher than they should be or some other issue because I also see a really wide gap of player skill in my matches.
I’m plat and sometimes I have players in the match that has had their peak masters the same season but currently are platinum.
Other times (which is much more common) you have players who are perhaps platinum or diamond in the role they are playing but on other roles masters.
In my experience a normal platinum game consists of gold, platinum and diamond players and it also feels like a huge skill gap in certain games between players. When you’re platinum (average rank) like me perhaps it isn’t as bad but I could just imagine how bad it is for lower ranked players where the skill gap is even wider between ranks.
Oh don’t worry, we all know you won’t admit to yourself you’re a cheater. That’s the entire reason you are so infatuated with this thread. It’s a threat to the lie you know you tell yourself and you HATE that. But that’s ok. People will literally admit they are smurfing almost any time you ask. And that doesn’t even count the people who simply decide not to admit it. At any given time I wouldn’t be surprised if 60-75% of people playing the game are using alt accounts. I mean, even streamers are almost NEVER using their main accounts… And it’s not a secret or anything. Saying they “aren’t common” is so utterly out of touch with reality, it’s hilarious… And you are ADMITTING YOURSELF that you smurf regularly… Do you hear yourself, son? What in the hell is wrong with you? Do you smoke paint thinner all day?
the requirements now is like win 50 quickplay games to play comp or something, takes a while and most smurfs dont care about the money. Still, ruins low elo players games bc a smurf comes in and dookies on their matches

Low elo players do not want to play with high elo players, that is why this sentiment is made. Its still common when you always see unranked to GM videos by all the big content creators, theres also plenty of players who kind of have to smurf bc 1% of the player base is in Top 500 or GM
