Blizzard, instead of banning people for using curse words in a game where your characters reference curse words, maybe ban popular content creators that Smurf or as they like to call it “alt account for practicing” as that probably ruins games for lower ranked people. I understand that the people abusing smurfing for content are only in the lower ranks for like 20 games or so, maybe more maybe less depending on skill, but imagine wanting to try this game for the first time or a friend finally getting a buddy to play it only for their first experience to be going up against a pro who’s clearly just creating a Smurf for content. There’s a lot of offenders but Dafran is the worst, just watched a couple of his “unranked to GM: venture” and even though it wasn’t me in his games it was very annoying and frustrating that you allow that to happen, the games weren’t even close to fair let alone fun for either team and there’s no way of knowing how many new players he and others like him have turned away from the game, he even joked around saying “see I told you they’d say it’s an honor to be killed by me”. Pros shouldn’t be able to Smurf in ranked by making alt accounts, if it was unranked to truly “learn the new hero” then that would be fine but it’s clear that a lot of content creators just enjoy playing against people extremely less skilled than them for content
Idk the inner workings of this game tbh but doesnt it take into account what the average player should be doing on X hero based on everyone else in that rank? Like example average mercy player in gold should be doing i dunno 6k heals and 30k dmg boost (exaggerated) and having like 24 kills and low deaths.
But because more than half of the rank is filled with Masters+ mercy mains that are smerfing and or throwing games to stay in that rank when they start doing to good who average 30k heals 60k dmg boosted 60 kills 2 deaths the system is now registering that, that’s how you should be averaging as mercy for that rank?
Again I have no idea how the system works, that was always my assumption of how it works, if not then idk but I know the high ranked people smerfing in the low ranks has to be messing with how the system is registering the ranks and the players in it.
