SMS Verification

I’m trying to verify my battlenet with SMS verification but every time I enter my phone number and request a code I don’t receive any messages. Is anyone else having this issue? I had my friend send me a text just to make sure it wasn’t on my end and it went thru.

Did you have SMS verification turned on before trying today?

No, but since overwatch 2 will require having a phone number linked to your account I want to do it before the game releases

Are you using a prepaid/MVNO plan? This could be a small brand like Cricket, Boost, Metro, etc., or a prepaid plan on a major carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon). I ask because those are not supported by the SMS verification system.

My service is provided by Straight Talk, not a prepaid phone number. The issue isn’t that the phone number isn’t supported. My issue is that when I enter my phone number, it says that a message was sent to my mobile number, but I never receive a message. I select resend code and still receive nothing.

“We’ve sent a security code to your mobile number.
Enter the code below”

But there is no code. I just tried it again and still don’t receive anything.

StraightTalk is a prepaid service only.

Correct; prepaid phone carriers/numbers are not supported, so the SMS will not be delivered to you.

My previous phone number that I used was also Straight Talk and worked so why is it not working now then? Also, I tried using a pre-paid number before and I got this message:

“Please enter a post-paid phone number”

But when I enter my Straight Talk number I don’t get this message, indicating that it is not a pre-paid number.
So am I just being lied to when they say that a message was sent?
Again, I input my phone number and it says “We’ve sent a security code to your mobile number.”

(edit) I just received a code to connect my phone number. My service provider is straight talk, the codes are just taking a really long time to send. Looks like straight talk isnt a prepaid phone number.

They may have changed their stance on prepaid numbers, but that was the case for the last several years. Curious to see if it holds. That said, StraightTalk doesn’t offer any postpaid services.
